  1. Excellent. Those are giant fish on a giant bait.?
  2. Exactly my thoughts. All my swimbait rods are 8' and I'm considering a 9' or 9'6" for more casting distance.
  3. Great I'm glad to hear they're louder. The Savage is basically a silent bait. You'll like the 8" Bull Shad. I've got a school Bull Shads. They just flat catch fish. I look forward to long hot summer nights with the rats.
  4. I fish a 1448 Lowe flat bottom with a 25 hp from ponds with no ramp up 19,000 acre lakes with no problems. I've looked at the Lunds and they are nice but it might be challenging at poor boat ramps. It should definitely handle 5,000 acres easily.
  5. Zoom Swamp Crawlers in natural blue split shot rig
  6. Ordered 2 Spro BBZ-1 50 Rats one in Ninja, one in Morning Dawn from TW. I'm hoping they are louder than the big Savage rat.
  7. All gears get lightly greased except the worm gear gets light oil. Been working great for many years but in freshwater only.
  8. I'd definitely go with 6 to 8 lb FC line and try slow swimming or dragging a Ned rig.
  9. 8" floating Huddleston Deluxe twitched in between naps or a BPS 5 3/8" sticko
  10. I'd be throwing a big rat in and around those trees.
  11. If the hook point is exposed on a deeply hooked fish I'll cut the hook with my compound cutters and pull out the remaining section of hook with my pliers. If the point isn't exposed I'll cut it close as possible.
  12. I've used my Curado 70 with 10 lb FC when my buddy started catching them on the Ned and I had failed to bring a spinning rig.
  13. A couple years ago I hooked up my boat and went by and picked up my buddy that has a 1/2 mile (sandy) dirt driveway. We loaded his gear and headed back down his driveway. Suddenly he ask me to stop and steps out of the truck. He steps out in front of the truck for a minute and is looking at the dirt that builds up in the center of sandy driveways. He jumps back in and says that he was trying to figure out what dug a nice little trench in the mounded dirt. I immediately knew and jumped out to rotate my trailer jack. Luckily it had no damage just very sandy.
  14. I own 4 of the DX swimbait rods and have 0 complaints. I throw my A- rigs on the med-heavy .
  15. Better to ask for forgiveness than permission.
  16. 3/0 to 5/0 EGW Gama depending on the depth I want to fish. 2/0 EGW on the Jr.
  17. Power Pro (50 & 65) for baitcasting and Berkley Fireline Ultra 8 (10 lb) on spinning. The Ultra 8 is strong, cast great, and behaves well on spinning tackle. It also handles abrasion better than the original Fireline also.
  18. P-line CXX 25 to 30 lb for all subsurface baits and 65 lb Power Pro for topwater
  19. 10 lb Berkley Ultra 8 Fireline Crystal to 6 - 10 lb FC leader. My ability to detects bites was greatly improved when I swapped to a braid mainline and twisted line isn't nearly as bad to deal with.

A Colorado is going to allow the slowest speed and continue turning the blade. Just make sure it's heavy enough to stay down.
  21. Talk sweet to her and buy flowers and she might. HaHa
  22. I go completely nocturnal in the summer to beat the heat and wake boats (3' waves). It's about time to make the switch.
  23. Frabill F1 for warm weather and 100 mph suit for the cold.
  24. 8.5 lb on a fluke, 9.2 lb on a frog, and 12.44 on a Stick-o worm all out of a 1.2 acre cow pasture pond. All released .
