How does the Daiwa Tatula 100 compare to the Curado 70?
I can throw a 1/10 oz Ned on my Curado 70 effortlessly. No experience with the Tatula. Good luck.

Spinning rod love!
My spinning rods with a shakey head/ Ned rig/ dropshot have saved me from countless skunkings.

Transom Saver for Small Bass Boat Motor?
I've got a 2005 Lowe 1448/25 Mercury 2 stroke and it has plenty of ground clearance to tow with the motor down. But I will not tow without my transom saver. Pot holes and bridges will make lightweight boat/trailer jump around too much. The transom saver keeps the weight over the transom instead of pulling back on it.

Neighborhood pond fishing - monster catch
Nice.
- Bass fishing around tons of shad??

what is the deepest you have ever caught a LMB
Air temp 15 degrees. Water temp 43. That morning just barely lifting it up and down was the ticket. We caught 26 largemouth that day (slow day). Some days it takes snapping it up to get a reaction.

What is your favourite reel in your arsenal
My Revo Toro Beast 60 HS takes top spot for me . Throwing the big swimbaits is like using baby seals for Great Whites.

46' on a jigging spoon according to my Humminbird

(POLL) Do you catch and release or keep fish?
All crappie, hybrid bass, and spotted bass that I can fillet go home. Once a year I catch 50 bass under 12 inches out of my pond and fillet them. Pops is questioning your sanity over a $100. I thow lures that cost more.

Dedicated rods
I own around 50 combos, so I do for the most part have dedicated rigs. The challenging part is having the right ones when on the water.

Price breakdown level
It's all a balancing act. Spend too much on gear and you must work overtime to cover it, which means giving up fishing time.

Is a swimbait rod worth it?
Really depends on which S-Waver. The 168 is 1 & 5/8oz the 200 is 3.5 oz. Many Mh & H bass will handle the 168, but that's not gonna work with 200 S Waver.

"Buzzing" sound from Abu Garcia LTX
Bearing needs cleaning/lubing. I use an ultrasonic cleaner with acetone. I run bearings shieldless so oil is part of my tackle. Check for loose line on your spool since it's happening on the last half of the cast.

What is your favourite reel in your arsenal
It'd be wrong for me to pick one of my children over the others.

Go to crankbaits
Strike King 6xd and 10 xd in Citrus Shad & Delta Craw. Rattle Trap 1/4oz Gold black with half the paint missing. I'll never buy another Rapala DT I've had at least 20 that the paints all cracked up from just sitting in the box.

A fish story with some pictures

The Best Swimbait Rod
I have really enjoyed my Daiwa DX swimbait rods. The rods come in four weight ratings for $110 a piece. They're typically in stock and no custom wait. I'm by no means claiming they're the best.

At what weight is it harmful to hold bass vertically?
Dottie was caught several times and held vertically for pictures. She was foul hooked at 25.1 lbs, photographed vertically, released and lived 3 more years. So I feel pretty safe holding any bass vertical.

Anyone look at you with a weird look like something is wrong when you say you bass fish?
My wife gave me a strange look the other day when I complained about it taking me four hours to cut the grass , weed eat , and blow the driveway off. So I ask why the look woman. She said you spent over 6 hours preparing your bass fishing tackle the other day for an 8 hour trip. I considered trying to explain the difference. But she would never understand.

Ticks
I put two cups of regular Clorox in tub of water and soak for 20 minutes( WARNING TUB GETS SLIPPERY). The bottom of my tub has looked like a pepper shaker was poured in it. Clothes immediately go in washer with clorox for colors. My wife and sister both have chronic lyme. It's no joke. Be careful.

The impact of breaking off.
I also carry a bag for that very reason. I pick up way more trash than I leave in lures. I've witnessed the death of two engines due to minnow bags. Non boaters seem to be the worst offenders around here. I just love trying to climb out of the boat on a dock covered with fire ants feeding on chicken liver.
