  1. Trollin' is borin', and unethical to this totally committed Bass Fisherman.
  2. My life is boring by most standards, but it is what I have chosen. I became single again 35 years ago and definitely will remain so. Living alone in the Ozarks I fish Bull Shoals and the White River, work with my Border Collie, go to the gym, and tinker endlessly with my fishing tackle. Can't complain. BTW, I escaped from Illinois, a good place to be from.
  3. Very good pickin'. By chance did you play in "Deliverance"?
  4. Aren't most Muskies caught when fishing for other species?
  5. I've seen some discussion about the AMP trolling motor wedge, but have yet to see one in use. I have a Vexus VX21 with a Ghost trolling motor, and the AMP distributor told me 100% of Vexus bass boats should be using their 5% wedge. Do any of you have experience with one?
  6. Bet that armor was cold; imagine frequent bathroom breaks.
  7. I bet some forum members are your neighbors.
  8. What state and locale do you live in. Possibly this forum has experienced members living near you who may be happy to take a look.
  9. Getting older and colder means more clothing layers and gloves/mittens. It also means going to the bathroom more often; what a pain that is.
  10. I agree with most Live Target baits, but I have a box full of their Bluegill crankbaits which have worked well for me. Different colors, finishes, and diving depths.
  11. I talked to my Local Vexus dealer; he has ordered a Springfield for me to try out. He also has a nearby source who will custom make something similar for me.
  12. Thankyou, the Springfield stand up boat seat may be the one, but I thought I had seen one with a higher back, maybe not.
  13. Does not look like what I saw, but,,, Does the seat in this picture swivel to a straight up and down position?
  14. Somewhere, maybe here, I saw a picture of a seat(?) that was made for standing and leaning back against, not for sitting; it served as a tall brace. Are any of you familiar with this?
  15. My lake and river do not freeze but when cold temps stiffen my fingers I stay home.
  16. In my advancing years I have mellowed and no longer expect absolute perfection; it would drive me crazy if I did, no matter what the product is or the cost. I usually expect a little disappointment if I look closely enough. Unless the performance is noticeably compromised I will let it pass and only I will notice the flaw. The hassle of an exchange for something which may be no better isn't worth it to me, but each to their own.
  17. Berkley Wake Bull, which was dropped not long ago; Uncle Josh Black Pork Rind Eel from the 1950's and 1960's; also the Tin Liz from the same era.
  18. Fish and Game would likely get there faster than EPA.
  19. I had improved results with wake baits and jerk baits this year; I also went out about 50% more often than last year, but only 2-4 hours at a time. I can be choosy, because my house is less than 5 minutes from the marina and my rented slip.
  20. I'm originally from your general area; which lake is that?
  21. Try using a loop knot would be my first recommendation. Secondly, use a line that is not too heavy or stiff.
  22. another site has a 25% off sale on Megabass rods to it's members.
  23. This reminds me of a woman I was in a relationship with a long time ago. Before Xmas she would print out a stack of letters, all the same. Each person she received a gift from would receive one of those letters from her. "Please send me the receipt from the purchase of your gift so that I may return it for a refund or exchange it for something I may want". I'm serious, she really did that.
  24. I've spent every Xmas and other holiday alone for many years; no relatives within about 700 miles. It's stress free and without obligations. Yesterday, Xmas day, my Border Collie and I went fishing; being able to do that whenever I choose provides more pleasure than any gift or being in the company of others could provide. My parents called me a "Loner" until they passed away; yes, Mom did add the word "Scrooge" around Xmas time.
