A friend of mine was at a BPS last week and I asked him to pick up 2 colors of a specific lure for me; I had already checked the price on line. He took them off the display which was priced as it showed on line. The cashier scanned the bar code and the price was 33% higher. My friend put up a fuss and received the as marked price; he was told the prices were going up so fast that store employees were not able to change them fast enough to keep up with the cash registers. That 33% increase was on top of a 20% increase the lure received earlier this year. It's made in China.

I agree that Bass can be overly ambitious. I once extracted a 13" Cottonmouth who's tail was sticking out of the mouth of a 12" Smallmouth; fortunately for me the snake was already dead and digestion had begun.

Bass Thumb is a sign of a true addict.

I use a clicker; don't pull it out unless I surpass about 6 fish. I find them in a golf department.

New Glarus is only sold in Wisconsin; I have relatives there who bring that gift when they visit. Good stuff!

Watched a Cougar run through my back yard this spring; very happy my Border Collie was inside at the time, she would have taken up chase for sure. Where I live in North Central Arkansas there are more deer than rabbits or squirrels; we probably have more Cougars than is believed.

I had that same charger in a 4 bank; problem after problem. Mfg replaced it once, maybe twice, and it was sent in for warrantee repair 4 times. Had it 5 years. When it failed again only 3 months after the last repair, I gave it away to someone who needed only 2 of the remaining 3 banks. After talking with 3 marina mechanics I bought the one they all recommended. Maybe I was jinxed, as I know others who have never had a problem with the one I gave away.

10# mono and fluoro are generally considered the heaviest most want to use on the President; if you are referring to braid, 12# is not be a problem on the same size President. Unlikely the Daiwa in a size 3000 would be any different.

Muck Boots get around; very popular in the Ozarks. I wear them for getting in and out of my trout boat on the White River.

I keep a disposable container on board; it makes the act safer, eliminates "dribbling" on the boat, and does not foul the water.

A good quality BFS rod and reel set up will renew your game plan and feed the monkey too.

90 degrees in the Ozarks.

I'm on a large, deep lake in the Ozarks. Water temps at 5:30 in the morning are 90 degrees and rising; had my first skunk a couple weeks ago. May be time to consider a cabin in the north woods.

Look at the bright side, Katie! I had the first one done a couple weeks ago and cannot wait for the next. I went fishing the day after surgery and my only restriction was not to lift over 20 pounds......definitely not a problem. I was also reading and tying knots without my regular glasses or magnifiers, wow! Umm, I lived in San Francisco in the 60's and know how you were able to see those colors.

100% agree with DARTH-BAITER. Go to a fly fishing shop and buy a tube of Loon UV Knot Sense; if your wallet can stand it, also pick up a UV Nano Light. Don't wet your leader knot with saliva; instead, apply a small drop of Knot Sense and smooth it on the tied knot with fingers. If not fishing in bright sunlight, take about 20 seconds to cure it with the Nano Light. Your knot will not fray or slip and will pass thru the guides more smoothly. I know I'm not the only member of this group experiencing age related fumbling fingers and blurry eyesight, so here is another tip for tying that Alberto Knot : the Uncle Jim Alberto Knot Tyer (unclejimtool.com). I bought one and use it at home; after some practice, I bought another to keep on the boat. It can be mounted on a fixed object with velcro, or a small piece of wood to hold in your lap; I leave it in a bin until needed.

There are a lot of lightweight buzzbaits available.
