BPS Fluoro?

Is it junk or decent? Not, is it the best, I know it's not the best. I see the pros using it. Would they use it if it was junk? Thinking of trying it and just running it a while to see how I like fluoro.

I don't know who makes it anymore. At one time it was seaguar . In any case , do yourself a favor and buy a spool of Invisx or Sniper.

I've used it and it was ok. Personally, I typically watch for deals and stick with Seagaur. Mostly Invisix as @rangerjockey mentioned, but also some Abrazix. I've tried some of Sunline's options too and was pretty happy with them.

To be honest,... I don't really believe there is as much difference in flouro lines as we like to believe, but there are definitely distinct differences..

I've worked with different line manufacturers because we use it in some of our processing , mainly in chemical baths for it's acid resistance. It works great for part holding in etching and polishing baths for electro-polishing.

Most "Flouro" lines are around 95% Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) with the remaining % being additives to soften or add handling characteristics.

I believe the differences you see in lines is what they do with that small % of additives. Some do very little and it is tough and stringy.  Some do their homework and make it much more supple and manageable. I believe hat small percentage of additive work is where the differences lie.

I've never had any complaints about it. I believe Frnknsteen hit the nail on the head with his post.

Many of the pros seen using it are likely sponsored by Bass Pro.

I have a spool of the Bass pro KVD line that i picked up a coupe years ago, so made in 2021 likely.  I found it to be stiff and wiry, even after line and lube was applied.  It was 17 lb and it is stiffer than then 20 lb big game I have here which is saying something.  It didn't have a nice smooth coating on it either which worried me a little.  I fished it for part of a season and got rid of it.

Yeah, but they wouldn't use it if it sucked. I expect they don't have any patience for line issues.

Although I’m in no position to talk about the nuances of fluorocarbon I believe the general consensus on here is Tatsu is the best although @bulldog1935, @redmeansdistortion and @FishTank can probably tell you about Japanese versions that are just as good if not better but I digress and much like yourself I was looking to cheaply try the whole flourcarbon deal and I picked up Seaguar Basix available at Wal Mart in 10 pound and spooled it on my Tatula 80 and again with nothing else to compare it to I actually like it and still have it on that reel for what it’s worth.

I bought a spool of the KVD/XPS, and I’m reasonably certain that it is Seaguar Basix at a higher price. Looks/feels/behaves identical.

I’ve got nothing to complain about with it, except it’s a bit overpriced.

I picked up a couple spools of Basix....spooled up, did some tests...unspooled it and relegated it to leader only.

InvizX is my main go-to - Tatsu when I can afford it.

@Eric 26 I've been amazed when I loaded my Steez spool charged with 12-lb Tatsu (or maybe JDM R18?) and stored for 5 years onto my other 34-mm Daiwas for test-casting.

Memory is remarkably low and casts like a dream.

The only better fluoro I've found is Toray X-thread, and I only use it in finesse sizes.

I’ve never been impressed with any floro. Mono works fine for me. I’m not a pro, and just fish for fun
