Forgot to mention the lack of mosquitoes; I've been here 11 years and can only remember 3 mosquito bites. Guess that gives me "braggin' rights".

There are times I wish I had moved further south, but being here is lots better than most have it. My house overlooks one of the top bass lakes in the country and my Vexus vx21 is in a slip less than 5 minutes away. In my garage sits my river boat and I am 10 minutes away from launching it into the world famous White River for trout fishing. Sometimes I complain, but I shouldn't.

My area is known for big trout and lots of them, but that makes them highly pressured. I swing for the fences with Megabass 110's and the magnum sizes as well. Works for me and ups the average size fish.

I'm curious to know if H/F is considered the only way to go. Do any of you use a 7'6" MH/F?

Thanks to y'all for the inputs. When I began this thread the purpose was to determine if others had been hacked after ordering from Japan; apparently not. BOA has taken very good care of me when it comes to sending alerts and blocking suspicious purchases, but the inconvenience of being without the card for about a week when that happens, then registering the new card with my auto-pays is a pain. I've refrained from disclosing what the hacker attempted to buy with my card for fear of Glenn banning me from this site. It had nothing to do with bass fishing.

Made my first ever on line purchase from one of the most discussed Japanese sites. It was the only place with stock on a reel I wanted. Got the reel quickly, saved some $, but little more than I would have saved from my favorite U.S. site during one of their sales, if they had stock. Four days later my credit card company caught two unauthorized transactions on my card. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Tom is right. One Mr. Clean Magic Eraser pad will quickly and easily clean at least a dozen cork handles; wipe them off with a damp cloth when finished.

In my opinion, from experience, a Smallmouth fights like he wants to rip off my arm and beat me to death with it. Coming in second is a lowly 3-4 lb. White Bass; a Largemouth is a wannabe compared to them.

I have one of those as pictured; retired it back to it's box years ago when I began believing the new models would make me a better fisherman. Jury is still out.

In the 40's and 50's, the red and white Daredevil was challenged in it's Northern Pike catching abilities only by the Red Eye Wiggler (in my experience). Is the Red Eye Wiggler still around?

WRB commented his friend's GPS puck was determined to be too close to the Ghost trolling motor. Do any more of you have knowledge concerning the puck's location to a Ghost trolling motor?

Multiple tournaments every week from different locations on the same lake, often 2-3 out of the same marina on the same day. Black bass state and lake records have not been broken for 40-50 years. I have even witnessed tournament anglers, after a weigh in, put their fish back in the boat and head for the fillet table. Catch rates this year for myself and ALL my friends were the lowest in the past 12 years. Water conditions and forage remain very consistent.

I still use it too.

Wade fishing for smallmouth in skinny water, an hour away from my car, 40 miles from medical services, wearing shorts and shoes. Standing ankle deep, I felt something on my leg, looked down at a Cottonmouth practically climbing into my shorts; I was standing on it's tail. He did not bite me.

Anglers, and Guides, who fill a livewell of warm surface water only to take a pic. of the day's catch make me sick. Many, many fish taken to the fillet table are placed in freezer bags and eventually discarded, never eaten. Some out of town Bass Clubs will brutalize the catch, which will be floating in the Marina the next day. Most anglers, guides, and tournament directors will be hard pressed to find a fizzing needle or know how to use one. Anglers who simply mishandle fish only for photo purposes may not know, or care, about the mortality rate. On my lake, it takes a Largemouth 10 years to reach 5 pounds, a smallmouth 10-14 years to reach 4 pounds; lake records have not been beaten for 40 plus years and the lake teems with baitfish. Wonder why those records still stand? Wonder why each year the average size and number of "keepers" very slowly diminishes? I'm venting, glad for the opportunity to get this out of my mindset.
