  1. Bazoo when you buy ball head do you get them with or without the bait keeper molded in?
  2. Do you have one or do you just buy stuff? I have two self imposed budgets. One is for rods, reels, line and baits. The other is for truck and boat gasoline. The mention of the amount is not necessary. With what I have on hand my tackle budget rarely hits my limit so it moves over to the gasoline side if needed.
  3. Good for you. I’m not sure what I would have done. The older I get the lower my tolerance threshold gets.
  4. I agree with you on the hook size. I believe that a 1/0 would be big enough for your grub. Check Barlows or lure parts on line you might find a good deal.
  5. If your reel is more than a few years old they may not carry the part. You might fins something on ebay.

So when you guys are referring to (twisted or rotated) are you referencing flat eye hooks?
  7. There is a site where electronics are often listed. The auto censors won’t let me post it. If you would pm me your phone number I would give you the information.
  8. It’s been several days since I’ve been able to get out. It has been very windy here for a week. I took my neighbor to our favorite area on Stockton Lake today. When we arrived there was a light northwest breeze. As soon as we hit the first place the wind came up and switched to the west . By the time we finished with it and moved across the lake the wind switched again and came from the south. As the day moved on the wind kept coming up. The south wind was roaring and sending 2 1/2 foot roller at us. The wind switched again to the south west. We fought the wind all day long. My long shaft 36 volt trolling motor got a workout today. The fish were shallow again (2-6’). The water was in the upper 50s every place we went. We wound up catching 75 bass today and at least 60 of them were smallmouth. The best bait of the day was a Ned rig. A coppertreuse TRD on 3/32 oz midwest finesse jig was the ticket. I can’t wait to get back.

I think I know how you feel Tom. We are in the 13th month with our daughter’s breast cancer. It has been a long journey. Two of her chemo treatments tried to kill her and put her in the hospital. After a double mastectomy she seems to be getting better.
  10. Okay. I get it for some of you. Myself I get stuff ready at home and test it before I go. So I know what baits work on which setups.
  11. I don’t understand the need for a scale for bfs baits. Can someone please explain it to me?
  12. Full cork for me. I do not like split grips. I only have 1 split and it is a seldom used spiral wrap.
  13. Tubes are about the only bait that I prefer to use spinning setups over bait casting. I use a Gloomis rod with a Shimano Stradic 2500.
  14. Monday night football was super boring. W for the Eagles
  15. For most of my fishing life if the high was predicted to reach 32° no matter the starting temperature we went. Since my cerebrovascular accident I have to take blood thinners and can’t stand the cold so the predicted high now is 50° with soft water.
  16. Matthew Stafford was on top of his game today.
  17. Allen is into spin casting. He probably can do a dozen of those under spins at a time.
  18. I saw a guy heave a fish over the side of his boat on an Arig. He looked at it and started laughing. His partner ask what was so funny. His reply was that the fish was on the bait that didn’t have a hook. So I guess one can feel it. I wouldn’t personally know because I run blades on my extra two arms.
  19. It’s not over yet. We are getting cold weather this weekend. I hope it doesn’t kill the smallmouth bite. We’ve had 79 fish (mostly smallmouth) in the last 2 trips and they are super shallow.
  20. Like I posted earlier. It is doing nothing. I have one tied on and 8 in my Arig box.
  21. The line size will have a lot to do with using a heavy rod. When I use one of mine I keep it to 15# fluorocarbon or 30# braid and use 1/2 oz spinner baits with a trailer.

The Devil’s Horse has been a hit and miss bait for me. I perfer the Boy Howdy. It sets in the water with the tailend hanging down therefore it gets more hookups than the D Horse.
