Road To The Superbowl 2026

Teams are furiously hiring/firing coaching staff in hopes of making a run at the Super Bowl. The combine and draft is right around the corner.  Will your team make it into the playoffs?

KC's O-Line problems were exploited by the Eagles and Bills.  Will they be able to fix it during the off season?

As for my Seahawks, they fired 1st year offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, replacing him with Klint Kubiak, but their offensive fortunes aren’t likely to change all that much if they don’t get better offensive line play in 2025. Geno Smith was sacked 50 times and the Seahawks run game ranked 28th in the league thanks in part to a group that failed to consistently provide protection or open up holes at the line of scrimmage.

Speaking of which, the 'Hawks running backs are average at best.  Fortunately this year's draft is rich with running back talent that should go deep into the 7th round.  So this their chance to improve the running game.  Lord knows they need it with interception-happy Geno Smith! LOL

I heard on the radio today that a vote for consideration to ban the “tush push” is slated next week.

It would require 24 of the 32 team owners to vote for this in order to implement it. The radio folks seem to think it will pass overwhelmingly because the only 2 teams that would vote against are the Eagles and Bills.

They also relayed which teams most commonly use it. Obviously Philly and Buffalo were 1 and 2. You might be surprised which team uses it the third most though. Take a guess.

I'll take DK. And I'll take Miles Garrett.

I kinda like the TP...apt abbreviation for Tush Push...TP.

I'll show myself out.

Only after saying, it works for the Bills - except when they

decide to not do it properly in the AFC Championship. Grrr.

The team that uses it the third most in the league: Chicago.

DK Metcalf traded to the Steelers for a 2nd round pick.  The Hawks now have 10 picks and 68M in cap space.

Unlikely, but there's always hope.

I bet they get Sam Darnold.

He's been rumored to go to Pittsburgh.

Someone like Seattle might pay him more, but let's be honest, he has a much better chance of winning with the Steelers right now.  If he's placed into a good system with talent around him, he proved himself with 14 wins and 35 touchdowns.

KOC was a big part in Darnold's success last season. Arthur Smith is a good OC that could keep it going if Sam ends up at Pitt.

Hopefully the Ravens learn to finally not beat themselves this year...

SCHEDULE’S OUT YALL!!!

How the Pats got more than a dozen cupcakes is anyone’s guess. Also, the Cowboys 2nd half of the season is BRUTAL.

Eagles have a tough schedule and zero back to back home games, first time ever.  It won't matter just like last season where everyone balked at them having such an early bye week.  They will represent the NFC again in the Super Bowl barring serious injuries.

I hope the Lions new oc/dc coaches have a good year. Will they miss the old ones? maybe. Of course it doesn't matter, the players do the work. I would bet you a hundy they don't go 15 - 2 this year.

My Phins will probably just miss the playoffs again. They will not get real good until they get rid of the GM, Chris Grier. He has the worst record for drafts and trades in the entire league. It also is hard for your team to look tough when the coach runs out and looks like the nerdy IT guy who could be knocked down by a stiff breeze. Cmon coach, would it kill you to hit the weight room with the team? :others-142:

Tua healthy all year :Idontknow:

Every running back that has landed on that has incurred a major injury the following season. It’s a curse.

Whelp, last season I said the Hawks were going nowhere as long as they had Geno Smith.

He's gone, replaced with Sam Darnold.  TBD if that's a significant improvement, but it couldn't be worse.  They drafted QB Jalen Milroe in the 3rd round for insurance. New QB coach too.

I also said they needed to wipe out the O-Line and start over.

Done.  They let go of their existing line, and have 5 2025 draft picks on the O-Line now, including a 1st round pick, plus another guard. They have another lineman that was drafted last year too.  New O-line coach too. Complete rebuild.

I also said they needed to upgrade their running backs.

Not done.  They did draft one running back, but it appears they're going to see what the revamped O-line can do before making changes in the backfield.

That said, they drafted a tight end and a wide receiver - both studs. Also added veteran Cooper Kupp plus a few other WR and TE's, and got a new assistant offensive coordinator.

Lots of changes in key positions.  It looks good on paper, but this year will definitely be a rebuilding year, so I don't have high expectations.  But you never know!
