  1. Regardless of the winner, I love a high scoring game. The Texas game is putting me to sleep.
  2. You might not be able to visualize it but is there. Spinning rods go in the port side box which doesn’t have dividers.
  3. If I were going to use them that way, I would rig Texas style with a worm hook to keep the hook point unexposed. Down here we don’t have beaver dams or lots of lay downs. We do have brush piles on most every point on most all of our lakes. Football jigs and Texas rigged plastics are what I use on them.
  4. Never heard of it. Is it a reality show?
  5. I have 1 spiral wrapped rod. The rod itself isn’t bad but getting it in and out of my rod locker is a pain. One or more of the guides poke through the rod sock and get hung up on the rod slot. Therefore, it mostly rides around in the boat down in the locker.
  6. If I were going to use a trailer it would be a split tail.
  7. Only once in my life have I ever had someone who thought a particular spot was theirs. Tournament or not, if you are on a spot it is yours. I’ve never had someone say that I should move because they were fishing a tournament. If that happened I would tell them to look closely in my eyes and see if they looked like I cared what they were doing.
  8. Mellinnum is the way I went. Don’t get white. Do get cables instead of straps. You won’t be sorry.
  9. Sometimes it is.
  10. That’s exactly what I did when I had a Richline 16’.
  11. I have read some of your ideas and I don’t think you have considered the magnitude of tournament events. On one lake near me there were 72 tournaments with up to 350 boats in a 30 day time period. Multiply that times 12 months, 50 states and 1000s of lakes and I think there are no easy solutions.
  12. You must be referring to a screw lock. Your chances of breaking it are slim. If it is molded into the head then you can not replace it.
  13. I don’t know what mend-it is made from but I have had a bottle for years and it dries out and gets tacky. When that happens I just put a little acetone in the bottle and shake it up then I am back in business.
  14. I have a couple with those micro eyelets. I haven’t found any knot that will “slide” through them. So I have gone to straight fluorocarbon in either 8 or 10 # test. Problem solved for me.
  15. We had no plans for today so I took my wife to my favorite (26,000 acre) pond. We went to the third most busy launch. There were only 2 rigs there. We weren’t early. It was near 9 when we arrived. Moving out to the main lake we saw no boat traffic. I fished a bit and caught a few fish then we decided to go for a ride. One of the places I had planned to hit had a boat on it so we motored 7 miles up the Little Sac river. We spot locked under a bridge and had lunch. On the way back I went to the place where I saw a boat earlier. He was gone so I fished my favorite ledge and caught 3 and lost 3 on Shaky. Then we headed back to the truck. We covered close to 25 miles of water today. We saw to ride around boats, 2 pontoons, 2 bass boats and one jet ski. It actually felt like we owned the lake. It was a good day to be on the water.
  16. I have owned both Tracker and Lowe boats. I had the 18’ Lowe with a 115 Evinrude. It was a great boat except in a strong wind. Lowe would be on my list if I were to return to aluminum.
  17. I like a good game and this imo was one.
  18. I’m watching Notre Dame / Miami right now. I just saw a one handed catch for a Miami touchdown.
  19. Dump them on a paper towel and blot with another one if that bothers you.
  20. I keep the jig head simple. I use dirty jigs guppy head in 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, and 3/8. I have 2 boot tail molds that I use as well as Keitech swing impact fat which I have in 3 sizes and a bunch of colors because they are so fragile. Recently I bought some Tackle Max fugitive swim baits. I am impressed with them so far. A few trips ago it took 8 Keitechs for 10 bass. Earlier this week I had 14 using only 2 fugitives and both were repairable when I got home.
  21. Depends on the # test. If heavy and you get the weight hung up, good luck.
  22. Thanks for not bashing my Chiefs so far. The injured kids from last season look healthy. So I expect the Chiefs to be tough again this year. We will see.
  23. My 10# mono is 0.11. It works just fine on anything bigger than my old Stradic 2000s.
  24. Thanks for the input. I won’t order 10# when I get my 6#. I have braid and leader on the reel but just put it on a different rod. The braid carries too much in the wind and is causing me fits. I’ll just use some 10# mono off that 5000 yd spool that I have and be done.
  25. I use 6# on several setups. I haven’t used any heavier Yozuri. I’m getting ready to order some more and thinking about 10 or 12#. Is that supple enough to use on a 2500 Stradic?
