Any chemists on here?
I haven’t been anywhere to buy Ajays hot sauce. But after I rinsed the vinegar off good I put a fersh coat of Bow to Stern on the motor. I took it to Stockton lake and spent time in both major tributaries (Big Sac and Little Sac). When I got home there was a little spotting. I sprayed it with my homemade screen cleaner and dried it. The spots are gone. Thanks for the info.

Lots of spring flooding is what I think this year.

Do you generally find tubes with purple flake more effective than plain green pumpkin for river smallmouth?
Green pumpkin with black and purple work great on Table Rock pre spawn. Post spawn they aren’t any better than green pumpkin with just black flake.

Any chemists on here?
Mike all of our lakes have been that way since mid spring. Even my clear water at Stockton only has a couple of feet of visibility. But that hasn’t kept the fish from biting.

Any chemists on here?
This is just one of the hundreds of rocky banks in one small lake which I fish. The main lake is called Table Rock for a good reason.

Any chemists on here?
Our lakes are very rocky with the dominant rock being limestone.

I use a polymer sealant on everything.

Any chemists on here?
The straight vinegar was amazing. Do I need to rinse it off after I wipe it down?

Eight days after hand surgery…
The surgeon inspected the three incisions, took out the stitches and gave me some exercises to do and said I could do anything I wanted to. That was Wednesday and I took Thursday off. Then I tried fishing on Friday. Things went pretty well but I stay too long. My hands were very stiff and sore so I am taking Saturday and Sunday off. I did manage to boat 15 bass in 4 hours. Things are looking up.

Any chemists on here?
I get a lot of hard water spots on my Mercury motor. I have used hydrochloric acid on it with great results but feel that it will ultimately damage the cowling. What else can I use?

Maxxum TM pedal moving on its own
I assume you have it on constant power. Most every trolling motor on the market will tork to the right it you lift your foot. Take it off constant or keep your foot on it.

Bass Pro Shops bought Hobie (?)
Does BPS have anything in direct competition with Hobie? John L has bought many boat lines that competed with his aluminum, glass and center consoles. All of them except for Ranger and Triton have gone away.

Upgraded bearings?
I used to have a guy in Alabama service my Curados. He talked me into Bocas. Basically what I got was more noise.

Batteries wired in parallel?
You can but your bigger battery may use some of its energy on the smaller.

Reel Parts for Bass Pro Reels?
The reel repairs are done at the warehouse on Kearney street in north Springfield. A lot of it used to be done at the Catalog Outlet store but the guys (Walt and Bob) who did the work have left and haven’t been replaced.

Need bigger ice chest!

Need bigger ice chest!
I am a midwestern guy who’s never seen a toothy blue fish. What is that?

Anyone compare actual line capacity to what's stated on the box?
Buy your line in bulk spools then you will only have one with a small amount left on it. That’s what I do.

You ever get hung up on a set up after a PB???
I have no idea of which setup I used. More than likely I don’t even have it anymore.

When do you stop changing baits and just trust your system?
Over the years I have simplified the process. I basically fish a few different baits (spinner bait, jig, shaky worm, Ned rig, and swim bait) and keep a couple of each rigged all the time. I carry several sizes, weights and colors of each of them. So when I switch it is easy and if it isn’t better than what I was doing it is easy to switch back.

What trailer?
I turn my tabs backwards to get the flare.

Fluoro vs mono size?
For me it varies. I choose mine by the surrounding area and the application. When I am fishing timber I use the setups with 12# fluorocarbon. When there isn’t timber I use the 10 #. If I am fishing Ned or something similar I drop to the 8#. If I had to pick one size it would be 12#.
