  1. I keep mine is size specific and bait specific boxes.
  2. Sometimes I can actually see fish on my unit but down scan instead of 2d sonar. Here are some pics that I have captured. I think this was a big old walleye under a school of shad. These are white bass by some shad. I caught 6 of them. Here is a shot of a paddle fish swimming under the boat. I'm pretty sure this is a big old flathead cat.
  3. That depends on what type of lights you have. If they are not sealed then yes. Mine are sealed and I never unplug them as long as the trailer is hooked to the truck.
  4. I have never used any of the brand name sticks. I make my own and can control color and sink rate with the amount of salt.
  5. I had gman pour me up 200 poison tail heads. He did a great job.
  6. I saw where 3 rivers marine was having a big sale.
  7. Check out the post on Triton vs Ranger in this forum. It may give you some ideas.
  8. I may have as few as 3 or as many as 9 depending on what I am doing. I don't like to retie so if I am fishing laydowns I need a bunch.
  9. I've ridden in both brands the Triton will probably outrun the Ranger but Tritons can be squirrely with a lot of chine walking. You can't beat the fishing platform of a Ranger.
  10. Too pretty to get wet.
  11. XR6 is carb and they typically are a bit hard on gas. If it were me, I'd take a look a them and see how the storage boxes, rod locker, and deck work out for you equipment and style of fishing. Something else to consider is the dual vs single console. I hate fishing with guys who only have a single console. If you haven't done so already, go to www.nadaguides.com and look up both units and see what the average retail is for them. Just off the top of my head the listed prices seem a bit high.
  12. I went to the Spfd. MO BPS on a sunny day and talked with "Katie the Costa Lady". I looked at all the brands and styles the had. Then we took some and went out into the parking lot and I tried all of them on. I wound up choosing the blue glass lens and headed on a road trip. I could not see the gps on the windshield more than 10% of the time. When I returned home I went back to BPS and told them about it. They said pick another pair and suggested the 580P with amber lens. They are the only glasses of any kind that I have been able to put on and keep on all day long without a head or nose ache. I'd buy another pair in a heartbeat.
  13. The fish I keep to eat run in schools and we have a limit of 15 so it the other guy is my wife or s-i-l I may have 30 to clean when I get off the water. I like to move over to the side and clean mine at the lake so the excess can be used by birds and other fish instead of winding up in the landfill. For that reason and being too lazy to use my Rapala, I have been using a cordless for at least 10 years. The one I use is no longer available unless Cabela's still has a few. When it dies I'll be looking for another cordless. BTW: I also have a sharpener for the blades so dulling is not a problem. You might want to look into one of them if you clean a lot of fish.
  14. Main point is really a (main lake point); a point that is in the main body of water. A secondary point is one inside a cove or bay, at least around here.
  15. Outside I use Totally Awesome from Dollar General. Inside I use paper towels and Qtips. The bearings I soak in naptha before I reoil them.

The smallest I know of is the 20 cavity 1" at Bear's for $129. http://www.bearsbaits.com/1-Curl-Tail-Grub-_p_235.html
  17. I'd guess it is a secondary point since it doesn't look like you are on the main lake. How I'd fish it would depend on the depth of the water, speed and direction of the wind and the time of year.
  18. There is no telling what color will work best in any situation. That is why I normally have at least 5 jigs tied on at all times. There is usually a couple of weeks in the summer when you can't beat a red jig on Table Rock.
  19. I have one on my TE82 for those times when I have to use lots of power and don't want torque. I keep the bottom loose until I need it. Then just a thumb screw and 2 seconds and it is any way I want it.
  20. That all has to do with the setup you have on your trailer. The company which makes my hubs feels there is no need to do anything for about 100,000 miles. However, I did pull them about 4 years ago and put in new seals and repack the bearings because I was going on a 700 mile one way fishing trip. As long as I can see the blue ring in the cap I don't touch mine.
  21. I have cut them, thinned them, flared them and done nothing. I have never found any significant difference in any of it except the flared guard is a little more snag resistant. I don't even go for the jerk their heads off hookset because to the tears in the mouth it can cause which makes it easier for them to throw the jig and I don't think it is a necessity as I use only quality hooks on my jigs.
  22. I am strictly a Shimano guy. I didn't go for the E series for a long time because I had supertuned Cs with ceramic bearings. When I finally bought one I found it to be great. Now I have 5 of them.
  23. I run Quick Kleen all the time and if I'm not going for a while I fill up and put Sea Foam in. I run Sea Foam in all my mowers, weedeaters, etc.
  24. It could also be a balance and tire pressure problem. The bumpy sounds like balance. I always keep my trailer tires balanced and have them checked and rotated every 6 months by the pros just to be on the safe side.
  25. I have found that weekend fishing is usually tougher than during the week and the common thing is increased boat traffic. But since fish are reactive predators you never know what they will do a specific time.
