Braid and single spins driving me crazy
Maybe my post is unclear. This split ring is on the ball bearing swivel holding the blade on the single spin. The braid is tied to the eye of the spinnerbait.

Braid and single spins driving me crazy
I'm night fishin' with 30# Power Pro using single spins. Last night I got a fish about every 12 minutes. However, at least every 10 minutes the braid gets inside the split ring next to the blade. It is driving me nuts. I am fishing flooded bushes where a leader is not an option unless I am mad at my baits. Let's hear some ideas on how to seal the split ring and not violate its integrity. I'm thinking solder or super glue but not sure.

Your G Loomis Collection and Favorite.
I have 7 at the moment and don't really have a favorite as mine are pretty much application specific. I have 1 for spinnerbaits, 2 for med to light jigs, 1 heavy jigs, 1 tubes and craws, 2 for drop shot and vertical jigging.

morning baits
Crack of dawn finds me throwing a spinnerbait and a buzzbait. Usually by 8-9am they quit it and I go to the jig or craw.

Opinion needed - Gloomis IMX vs Fenwick HMG
I have 5 Fenwick HMG spinning rods and 2 HMG casting rods. I think they are very good rods. I have been fishing them for the past 10 years. I have 3 Gloomis spinning rods and 4 Gloomis casting rods. The main difference I see in the two brands is the Gloomis rods don't weigh as much so, with my carpal tunnel, I can fish them longer.

how deep is too deep???
We do a lot of fishing to 75'. Many of our fish suspend at 50 or so in about 100 fow. Last fall a big tournament was won on Table Rock with the fish coming off the bottom in 105 fow.

It is nasty and you are kidding yourself if you think you won't get burned.

Scales
I use the Boga grip. It can be certified.

Stradic 2500 users
On those reels I use 8/1 power pro for drop shot and deep vertical fishing.

Line size
Depends on where you are and the cover. Where I fish it is open water and 10# works fine. In heavy stuff you will need a lot more.

Line spooling tips
Take it off the top of the spool on to the top of your reel spool.

Line Twists
There are 3 different way that I know to get line twist: one way is to use inline spinners without a swivel, another way is putting the line on the wrong way, and last one which you can't control is some reels without a good roller bearing will twist the line themselves.

If finances would allow would you?
Around here boats quit selling after July 4. They pick up again for a few weeks in Oct. The next spurt is during the late winter boat shows. I personally, wouldn't want 2 boats unless I was willing to give someone a good deal on the one I wanted to unload.

Most fished baits
Craw jigs in spring and summer. Bucktail swim jigs in fall, winter and early spring.

Deal on Shimano Symetre
A symmetry for the price of a Sahara, now that is a good deal.

Bilge pump
Try looking forward a couple of feet. Mine is not directly in the back. It sounds like you have a wiring problem or a fried pump.

Quantum or Shimano for starting?
I saw the $119 Stradics at Bass Pro yesterday for $99.

Trolling motor battery question
Why don't you jus get a couple of battery cables and hook both of them together. That way you shouldn't have to do anything while you are out. Just hook + to + and - to - so they are parallel. I did that for a long time when only 12v was available.

Water pressure gauge?
If it is working it will probably show around 20# of pressure.

Need suggestions
The first thing you need to do is determine if it is a constant or intermitten alarm. Then check the manual to see what the problem might be. A friend of mine called about his and was totally wrong about which one it was. After another trip to the water and paying attention he determined that it was indeed a water pump problem even though it was still putting out a stream.

2005 Ranger Z 20 225 ETec, Bass Cat or Triton
If you are down to 2 dealers and 2 boats, it is time to get your deal braker figured out.

Boat launch protocol?
Teach your wife how to operate the boat and you won't have this problem ever again. She can drop you at the courtesy dock and load the boat when you have the trailer in the water. That way you won't hold anyone up more than 30 seconds. I have been doing this for years and it is by far and away the easiest on everybody concerned.

Uprgrading Electronics
I just bought color and really like it. You might think about buying the Lowrance 520c w/o antenna. You should be able to save about $150 then you could add the antenna for a Christmas or BD present. You would have gps already there when you installed the antenna. If you can't find the unit that way. I know a guy who had some a few weeks ago cause I bought one that way myself.
