What I would use is what is used around here on gravel roads. It is called dirty base. You can also get clean base. It packs well.

I mostly fish finesse baits. One of the lakes that I fish normally has 10’ or more visibility. I use braid to fluorocarbon leaders with spinning setups (because fluorocarbon is difficult to manage) and straight fluorocarbon with bait casters. It may be a confidence thing and in my head but I don’t get the bites on straight braid that I do with fluorocarbon and I have tried yellow, white and green in sizes from 5 to 50#.

If you look closely I think you will find that they are pretty much boat specific instead of age related. My Nitro tales the thin ones while my buddies Phoenix takes the larger one.

I have no sentimental attachment to baits. I don’t retire them. I pass them on. When I load the boat I leave them laying on the courtesy dock at the launch ramp for someone else to use.

It probably is a 19 or 21 pitch. The boat size and weight will make a difference in which prop works best. A good prop person should be able to tell what it is. The option that I choose is test props on the water for performance.

No one painted heads when we started making jigs. We caught lots of fish that way. However, like Munkin, I can’t tie on an unpainted jig. Certain colors of heads particularly chartreuse often produce more fish especially on Ned rigs. That’s why I have several color choices.

Mike at Siebert Outdoors might sell you some or Ted at Cadmans Jigs. If you can get them without the weed guard installed it will make skirting easier.

My wife had one on her boat. I was always in the way whether up or down. It would only provide decent shade between 11 am and 1 pm with the sun right overhead.

The size doesn’t show. How does it compare to the 70 series size wise?

Tom these are identical blanks but the custom builders are different as well as the guides are different.

That might be fool proof to you but I am not sure how to tell the difference when they are both built on the same blank from different builders.

I can’t answer the question but am glad that they are because I am also.

If you had two rods the same length and supposed to have the same specs, how would you check to see which is the more limber?

We’ve been doing well on smallmouth in gin clear Beaver lake. Ned rigs and swim baits have been the best fished with fluorocarbon making long casts in front of the boat.

I check the wind direction and speed every day. Depending on the lake I am going to it has an effect on where I launch as well as where I start looking for fish. Three days from the same direction often sets up the food chain, algae, zooplankton, shad, foraging game fish.

You should be able to gently heat it with a candle and remove it. Get a replacement and install it. Don’t use epoxy or super glue.

Yes, I put some Zinkerzs dirt in with the deal and forgot about them. Later I had what I called the dirty deal.

6-7 hours is about all I can handle on the water these days. Of course it takes an hour to an hour and a half drive time each way.

I carry a Uncle Henry Stockman and a Swiss Army any time I have pockets. There are more in the truck and boat. One can’t have too many knives.
