  1. If you are catching fish, are you fishing it "correctly"? I fish them by dragging the bottom, popping the bait over rocks and wood. I've come to expect losing baits, including neds. All I use are 1/4 heads, kinda have to as the current where I fish is strong. I'm a power ned'er.
  2. Hear, hear! If any coach can get this bum to play its Belichick, the man is a motivator. Fricken guy could have turned Russel around! I will not be surprised when the patriots are play-off bound with Stidham.
  3. Hasn't happened yet, but I'm hopeful that the Raiders will have a signal caller that wont throw it away when the game is on the line. Of course Belichick will turn Carr into a player that cares more for his team than his stats, either that or the Pine.
  4. I haven't watched any of it yet, the warnings mentioned animal abuse. I'll give it a shot, thanks.
  5. I turned this off when I saw animal abuse was a part of the show, is the abuse over the top? I cant stand to see animals being hurt.
  6. ^Solid 8 A couple of covers I find great,
  7. Beware the Monkey! Ned, ned, ned, ned learn it, nurture it, many fish!
  8. Not super experienced, but. I spent the entire winter fishing my local canal, we had a lot of rain so the farmers were not ordering water. At some point my dumb *ss figured out that I could now see (due to the low water level) a lot of their hiding spots. And I am pleased to say that this has paid of in spades, as I move from a location to locations that I saved on my phone I'm getting them. It's been really eye opening seeing how much structure there really is in this canal and its a huge confidence boost coming back to these spots knowing where they will be, what bait will be best here and having that knowledge produce results. Now when I hit a spot, its wham bam, throw a few baits that make sense and move on. Before I was simply throwing baits all over the place catching the occasional "lucky fish", now I know where they are and all I have to do is present a bait they want and if not move on. So I did what so many here have said, learn the water you fish and fish where the fish are. Mind blown, y'all where right! I don't want to say I'm locked in, but I feel I've upped my game. People see me catching and ask what bait? I tell them and grin (with a little guilt) at their backs as they leave to fish water that I have eliminated. Ready for the next, what the heck moment.
  9. I recently broke my med/mod lightning rod that I was using for lighter treble baits , I replaced it with a Med/fast Abu Vendetta. Casting distance and ease of cast are both greatly improved and as a result so has accuracy. Both are 7' sticks. With the med/mod I was having to put a lot more umpf to get distance and accuracy went out the door as did over runs. Worse is that I didn't even know until I got my new rod. I haven't tried any short distance cast yet but I can now sling a 1.5 way further than before and with an improvement in accuracy.
  10. Thanks ATA, another arrow in my quiver. I don't have much problem hooking fish the way I rig Wacky, but I like seeing new ways of doing things. Never know when something like this may come in handy.
  11. Maybe I should throw an antipsychotic at them.
  12. I'll give it a shot, Thanks! I do wonder how much this will affect the shad's ability to swim, Might have to find bigger shad.
  13. Netted a bunch of shad yesterday and fished them in my local canal, the smallies would swarm in mass and chase the bait to the surface, literally fighting over the bait. Problem, when the bait was on the surface the bass bailed on it, They were chasing, whacking, basically tearing the bait to pieces. Is this behavior common? And is there anything that can be done to get them to commit to my live bait offerings?
