Turning the external brake all the way off ensures there is no add pressure on the spool. That is how I set all my reels up with mag brakes. Internal brakes don’t need to be touched.

My favorite spinning rod is my tatula 7’ m fast.

I can tell you this much I have a 50lb Battery, trolling motor a bag of gear I weigh 220 my buddy that fishes with me is 230. He also brings a bag of gear and the boat is perfectly fine. I stand in it all the time when I’m by myself.

I’m looking at putting together my ultimate jerkbait combo. Rod will be a megabass destroyer oneten special. I need to figure out what reel To go with. I’m looking at this Lews. Is anyone using it specifically for jerkbaits?

I use a Duracell 31 deep cycle for my 55lb thrust and it’s heavy but I want as much reserve as possible.

Make sure you come to a complete stop before hitting the anchor button. That helped with my terrova.

Not a 2 piece but the daiwa Tatula elite Brent Ehaler 7’3 mh is a awesome rod. And you should be able to get it for about 150 if you shop around. Or if you want to save a little money the regular tatula rods are awesome as well I personally have both.

I agree with you For the most part. I actually use the old style bps crankin stick in 7’ medium for my jerkbaits and it has the perfect tip and bend for jerkbaits. It took me a long time to settle on the perfect jerkbait rod for me and this is it.

I use 20 lb big game for my swimbait rod up to 3.5 oz and 15 lb big game for 1.5 oz baits.

That’s a great rod for both.

I just use a #2 octopus hook.
