  1. GLX is a better rod across the board over the IMX IMO
  2. Wouldn't mono follow the same? Mono can be overstretching and compromised as well
  3. ? I was drooling and couldn't help but ask lol
  4. Sell me all your fluorocarbon for $1 please lol ?
  5. Sunline, Seaguar, and Gamma all make phenomenal fluorocarbon lines. Never had this happen. My guess is that you frayed the line up and never noticed. Sunline Sniper has good abrasion resistance and has great characteristics but fraying off can happen with every line. Stren makes great monofilament line but the sensitivity of mono is not good. If you want to move away from fluorocarbon as a main line, I recommend considering tying in fluorocarbon as leader material to your braid when needed for bottom contact. Good luck though

Absolutely it's worth a shot. Plus the rod I use for it is extremely versatile. I like the 1/2 oz hair jigs. IMO Picasso has one of the best ones on the market. I am using a Phenix Recon Elite 7'6 Heavy. The rod loads a bit into the blank which is my personal preference but with great power still. Plenty of rod to also use for other applications. Very versatile. One day you may own a boat or get to start going out on the lake more, so it always nice to keep your options open.
  7. I recommend trying the 7M Glass especially for the 1/4 oz-3/8 oz chatterbait and trying a shorter trailer as well, if you are using a trailer. That should make sure that they get the hook as well.
  8. IMO Expride is among the best rod in the class. Performs well above its price point. Very impressed and I have tried about everything. Personally, my experience with Dobyns has left me unimpressed. I wouldn't buy another. I've tried Furys, Champions, and the Xtasys. They aren't bad but IMO I would rather spend my $ with another company.
  9. Recently saw someone who said that Garmin units are not currently compatible with Navionics cards. But then read this below. So do the new units such as the Ultras and 8600 series already have the Garmin and Navionics maps built in?? Are they capable of inserting the Navionics maps card for contouring? Does the Garmin maps already have contouring?? Since Garmin and Navionics joined together, we have been comparing and combining the best of our data and technology to produce superior cartography products. This relationship is a win for every boater, and the result is the new g3 cartography from Garmin that features unparalleled coverage and brilliant detail with integrated Garmin and Navionics content.
  10. NE will be tough if they can get AB to behave. If the Patriots can't get him right then this will be his last year in the NFL because no one will want to have him on the team
  11. Moral of the story is that players of all sports need to learn that they aren't bigger than the game and there team. Many athletes now adays need a reality check. They are athletes, not political figures. Be a role model to the young kids and do something you love. This is what got many people upset a few years ago. There job is to play football, not create drama, and to stay in there lane. Which is why Antonio is now a Patriot. Belichick hopefully can straighten him out.
  12. Love the reel seat. Complaints are primarily just nit picky people
  13. MB Diablo Spec R will be hard to beat as well as the 843C MBR GLX
  14. I agree with all of those statements. Everyone looks at me like I'm crazy with a spinning reel/rod haha. Correct, bass are definitely shallow even in the summer. Great job Glenn! I am curious as to your outlook on tournaments as your talk about it some. I participate in tournaments locally and will say unfortunately some fish do die due to being hooked in a vital spot, heat of summer in GA, poor fish management, etc. I'm not a biologist so i'm not sure whether it's healthy for the lake or not. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts. Is it beneficial for the overall health of the lake? I am not at all knowledgeable on this topic and very curious as to y'alls thoughts. Thanks!
  15. Yes sir! I agree. I will take it out tomorrow and pay attention to the RPMS. I have heard that SS naturally has more pitch. Is that true? Will a 14 pitch SS prop 3 blade and a 14 pitch aluminum generate similar speed and RPM numbers?
  16. I haven't payed enough attention to the rpms to know for sure but everyone else is seeing 5900 rpms from what i've read. Would you pitch up, down, or stay with the same pitch? Thanks
  17. Have a 2012 Tracker Pro Team 175 with a Mercury 60 hp outboard. Currently have the original 10 3/8", 14 P prop and with 2 people can do about 36 mph but the original aluminum prop is in bad condition. Looking to upgrade to a SS prop and seek some more speed if possible. Should I pitch up, down, or keep the pitch the same with the switch to SS.
  18. For your intended purpose, definitely the Bantam MGL. NO questions or doubt in my mind that it is the correct choice IMO.
  19. I am very interested to try the Suffix fluorocarbon! I'm going to go get some.
  20. I think if you use a leader material such as fluorocarbon or mono, you will be fine. I know a lot of people like hi vis as it easy to say and for strike detection.
  21. You read my mind! I love my MB rods and can't recommend them enough to my friends. Great company that produces great rods.
  22. G Loomis has continued to improve it's offerings even after the sell. The newest GLXs are a continued improvement over prior generations. The increased cost from the G Loomis IMX or GLX is in warranty and components comparing to AA. 5 year warranty versus the lifetime in G Loomis. Also pay attention to small details, G Loomis is using high end cork whereas AA is using EVA foam. The IMX Pro utilizes FUJI K frame with Alconite inserts. GLX utilize FUJI K frame with SIC inserts. Alpha Angler is utilizing a Fuji reel seat which is good but they use an Alps SS316 guide. When I pay $250+ on a rod, I expect Fuji components not Alps... Buy what you like, but understanding what you are buying is important as well. I don't want to seem like i'm knocking AA but I just want to point out the differences. Megabass, St Croix, G Loomis, Daiwa, Kistler, Shimano, G Loomis, Phenix all make fabulous products that I will recommend. The Whipsnake, K2, or GLX 822 DSR would be my first choices. You buy what makes you happy. Enough said. Thanks
  23. Always try to get the rod in your hand if possible. I 100% agree with VinnyR
