Oh the woes of a bass fisherman and his finances
After 35 years of marriage, we have no idea what the other has purchased unless it's a " look what I bought ". Even vehicles randomly show up in the driveway unbeknownst to the spouse. Her vehicles have to be white so she traded in one white car for another white car and I never knew it til I got in it 3 days later.........I just smiled and said " nice ". Everyone's relationship is unique in it's own way and wish all to be blessed with an outstanding spouse the way I have.

Anybody had the Rona?
Both of my Daughters and both of my brothers tested positive and all recovered with mild symptoms, mainly just the loss of smell and taste. Even my 80 yr old uncle and aunt (76) both reported very mild symptoms. Wife and I were around everyone mentioned and somehow avoided it. We've both had our shots since, Pfizer. You'll both be fine.

Oboy ! What if you had to pee?

Plopper 130 = BIG fish bait.
That's strange that some baits are very effective for some anglers and not others. I have a WP ready in the boat about every trip. Spinnerbaits is an all-time favorite bait of mine yet I've never had a single bite or even a chase on chatterbait. The next fish I catch I'm gonna hook it's mouth with a chatterbait and take a pic and see if that triggers some kind of phenom.

Is fishing good after a storm
Major cold front blasted through Sunday, lows in the upper 20's. Tuesday it got into the 80's so went fishing Wednesday. Landed 1 fish in 6 hrs of fishing, windy blue bird skies and an algae bloom. Repeat this scenario......I'm still fishing. Go enjoy yourself.

Once again...
Yeah, I started a thread recently about this. We've had beautiful weather until I circle a date........then comes cold fronts and high winds greeting me at the ramps. Looking forward to the dog days. Lol

Is fishing good after a storm
If your talking a hot summer's day thunderstorm then in my experience, it can be fantastic after the storm. It cools the water as it's adding oxygen. This time of year with water temps hovering in the 50's, a storm could actually cool the water and slow the bite. It really depends on time of year and the magnitude of storm. Imo

fishing in the rain
When I was younger, fishing in rain was common and spinnerbaits were the preferred bait. With age, rain ranks slightly behind wind as I don't like all my equipment getting soaked. Prefer to fish right after rain.

Almost...
When I was 9, braid was non existent and line breakage was common but the desire to fish never ceased. Introduce your companion to braid.

If I see you wearing this, please pretend you don't know me

It's Not ALL About the Fishing
Hobby that I've had for over 30 years and still actively doing today is mtnbiking.......addicted. My brother of 57 yrs of age is a roofer and logger and is an absolute animal on a mtnbike and pushes me ( 60 ) on every ride. Calls me and asks " you fish'n today ? ". Lol

What is your longest duration between fishing trips?
My longest break is the month of November and December when I'm deer hunting almost every day. This time of year sees me on the water 3 - 4 times per week.

Breaking the rut of using the same few lures
Couldn't tell you how many times I held the same rod and reel for hours while the others just sat in the boat because I had confidence in the bait being thrown. About the time I'm ready to try a different bait or color, I catch a fish and that cost me at least another hour.

The best fishing tackle and bait manfacturer
Accurate assessment. Imo Zman also gets a nod.

Anyone a fast fisherman?
When I'm doing a float down the river, mainly fishing for smallmouth, then I consider myself a fast fisherman. The boat is moving as I'm targeting active fish by fan casting spinnerbaits and flukes mainly. In clear water lakes around here, often has me finesse fishing where I slow way down which may coax a bite from less active fish or simply sitting dormant concentrating on a particular section of heavy cover....enjoy both.

Creature baits around docks?
And smallmouth love them.

Help me get fishing decriminalized on my local lake
You'd think the other side was accessible by the legal side.......but $800,000 homes??? Lol Them folks gotta have clout !

Should I use clips?
The snaps come in handy when you don't want to carry a dedicated rod for everything you plan on throwing on a particular day. I'll jump back and forth from a spinnerbait to a WP or buzzbait using same rod and they are much more efficient than the old swivels. My lakes are gin clear so really only use them on moving baits and though I haven't tried but wouldn't they cause nose dive on suspending Jerkbaits? Idk

Weather simply won't cooperate.
Yes.....unfortunately. Leaving in the morning for our 3rd trip and still packing overalls, down jackets and toboggan. Last weekend on Lake Robertson, only had to fight 50's and 30 mph winds and did manage to catch 2 fish on DS between gusts.

Weather simply won't cooperate.
Yeah, guess I should have a little cheese with the whine. I've fished this lake before and it has good submerged cover that I could concentrate on with the cold front BUT how does a person deal with the forecasted 40 mph wind gusts.......bank fish a 5oz jig maybe. Lol Still going but told the wife to bring a deck of cards and plenty of wine.
