  1. Your thumb just needs to float. I even use my Index finger for spinning reels.....fingers are multi task tools.
  2. Prefer straight braid or braid to leader. You may be fine with bigger spooled spinning reels using Flouro. I've also heard that pre-stretching the Flouro eliminates most of the memory. If you must, use a quality line like Seaguar or Sunline NOT Berkeley Vanish.
  3. Stability is best for fishing in my experience. Lowering for repairs, very bad. Rising waters, bad as it scatters them but better than low waters.
  4. The reason I ask is, lost reverse in my 55 lb thrust trolling motor, very strange. I've rewired the entire motor and still no reverse so just going to live with it. The cost to replace the motor pod is $600 and the only time I use reverse is when I drift to a hang up and then want to back out.
  5. Most of the lakes I fish are gin clear so a Flouro leader adds confidence. Personally use 15lb power pro to 8 lb Sunline sniper with Alberto knot. Main thing I've found " learned " is to keep the knot out of the reel for better casting. Another words, if you have a 7ft rod, a 6 ft leader would suffice.
  6. Welcome from across the pond and wish you great success fishing here.
  7. This level of fitness comes in handy when curling DD fish. Lol Keep it up ?
  8. I'm hearing more and more about this criminal act. Just saw a video where a gentleman was pumping gas when a van pulled up, 3 men jump out and make an attempt to steal car. The man douses them with gasoline and all 3 men flee the scene. I had no idea that gas pumps had that kind of pressure as he even drenched the inside of the van.
  9. Entertaining read and glad your ok.
  10. Nice fish ?
  11. After a recent trip, direct tie to everything. Won't use snaps or swivels.
  12. Hmmm, where can I invest in market shares ? Do you know if they carry a tick bite enhancer ?
  13. I'd go back last week where 2 good fish were lost, a favorite spinnerbait lost and burned up a trolling motor. Then jump back in the time machine and advance to see how many more years I have to fish.
  14. Yep, bad in VA......completely eliminates top water until the bloom subsides.
  15. Never heard that before, but believe it. I left a plastic worm lay up on the dash in hot summer heat and it welded itself to the dash. Remnants of that worm was still there years later.
  16. Beautiful setup and can tell you like keeping your equipment clean......me too.
  17. Don't see how an 18" fish can weigh 8lbs unless it was shaped like a basketball. This fish measured 18" and weighed 3.9. For comparison.
  18. We capsized on the river several years ago and my friend had a crankbait straddled between his legs, hooks embedded in both legs. I had to run the hooks all the way through and cut off the barbs then back them out. We laugh about it today but at the time, nobody was laughing.
  19. My youngest brother is a golfer and he often claims he lost his game and a week will go by and he rediscovers it. Last trip out, my casting was way off. Claimed a few fish but could have done better with more precision.
  20. An entertaining read for sure. Lol
  21. Makes sense, jigs and crawdad imitations have been a proven winner for a long time.
  22. Clear Lake should clearly take priority over a interview for a promotion. Your doing fine where your at. Call in sick and spend a couple more days fishing.
  23. Wish the company the best. Hard to imagine the demise of trick worms and flukes......I'm optimistic.
  24. Fantastic outing, had to be fun.
  25. Zman finesse wormZ in Junebug.
