I see many people only prefer to use this baits to get through cover like laydowns or grass. Does anyone use baits like the rage bug or pit boss in a T rig around docks and other light cover?

I think creature baits could work anywhere. In hot weather, target the shady areas, and throw them up under the docks if you can.

Berkley Maxscent Creature Hawg is darn near the only bait I use on a t-rig any more, other than a stickbait sometimes. Creature baits work excellent around docks, laydowns, weeds, and even open water areas/rock bottoms. 

Try fishing it like a swim jig on a 3/16-1/4oz Texas rig near docks.

All the time. Pitching creatures around/under docks is super effective for me. And the Pit Boss is one of my favorites.

I have always liked the Yamamato Kreature for docks and light cover.  For the heavy stuff, Beavers are still king. 

And smallmouth love them.

If I'm fishing a T-rig, there's probably some kind of creature bait on it. The type might depend on the type of cover. 

I killed 'em last year on docks with a Biffle Bug.  Send it!

Be careful, you may have "insulted" creatures, they'll label you a creature racist and you won't be able to sell your books anymore .

Can't think of a place not to throw a smallie beaver?

X2 and yeah they work everywhere, My favorite being the old Berkley Havoc Pitboss, they don't make the havoc line anymore but I still have them.. I did really well last year fishing this around parked pontoon boats and docks at my lake. Here's my pic of the last bag of havoc pit bosses I have left, gonna be a sad day when I run out of these. 

I like the Zoom super hog.  They don't get a lot of love, but they do get the job done.
