  1. I'm highly skeptical but I've come across this site numerous times and they've always got decent prices. Just search up Waveinn and it'll come up. In my digging, I've found that most have good experiences ordering there while others never end up getting their order or it takes ridiculously long to get it. I can swear there was a thread about here on BR too, but I can't find it using the search function. Anyone ever order from there or hear about it? Don't think I will order anything anyways but thanks.
  2. Awesome reels for sure, I used to speak of my Curado DC as the end all be all but as time went on and I became more proficient with baitcasters in general, I was less and less impressed with the whole digital braking system. I now realize it is not worth the extra money to me if I'm going to be getting a new reel. It's great for chucking heavy-ish baits in wind but other than that, I don't think the DC gives you advantages compared to any other reel if you're comfortable with baitcasters already.
  3. Changed some things up over the past two weeks but here's what I've settled on. Also, congrats to Coop Gallant on winning the open at Cherokee Lake, hoping to see him on the elite series next year.
  4. It's definitely fine. A trailer adds extra action and/or profile to a bait. However, the blade (s) vibrating and flashing on a chatterbait is enough for a fish to strike it, same with a spinnerbait. But using trailers on spinnerbaits icks me yet there's no way you'd catch me throwing a chatterbait without a trailer. Double standards I guess ?‍♂️
  5. Alright, so, I've given serious thought about buying a fishing kayak. I had my budget, did a bit of research on the internet and here at BR using the search function. I've just about decided the Pelican Catch 120 seems to be the best option for what I'm looking for. I have a few questions for those of you who own one or have owned one. Any other input on kayaks in general is also very appreciated so feel free to comment. 1. The Catch 120 is 66 lbs (Without the seat I assume?). How easy is it to car top alone or even with a buddy? Is it doable or a bit of a struggle? 2. I'm a big guy. 6'2, 250 lbs. The weight capacity is 400 lbs but I don't intend to go anywhere near that for safety reasons. I've read that 80% of the weight capacity should be the absolute limit. I'm limited to 70lbs of gear (including seat, my clothes, PFD tackle and rods). That's plenty right? What do you guys think about weight capacities on kayaks and their limits? 3. It's my understanding that the Catch 120 is not an agile or quick boat. Is it geared more towards stability for standing? How easy is it to stand and fish? To add to that is it a chore to move around for a novice paddler? 4. Should I see if I can demo the kayak before purchasing it? Or at least speak to a 'professional' at a kayak shop to see what they think about it? Any other resources I should be consulting? Thanks guys!!!
  6. I like that
  7. Still a lot of brands which make closed loop spinnerbaits. I used to prefer them too because I’d be able to put a steel leader on them, to avoid have them bit off by pike. At one point I just said whatever and I now use an R bend without any leader. I haven’t lost many spinnerbaits to pike at all since then so I guess I’m just lucky. I think the R bend is simply just in style nowadays. I don’t see why else bait manufacturers have moved largely towards that. Maybe twisting the wire does take more time? A problem I had with closed eye is the line wrapping around it. I know a lot of people find that annoying. On the flip side, people also find that their line slipping down on R bends annoying.
  8. I don’t think it’s too early to be targeting current seams and the high percentage spots of the spring and summer. Since you’re fishing smaller rivers, the water temps swing quickly. Some days may be colder than others but in the grand scheme of things, the water is still warming up as long as your overnight lows are steadily warmer and warmer. I don’t know your weather but take a look at that. Either way, the fish gotta be somewhere, so might as well try for the few fish that have moved up.
  9. Yup, a light braid mainline will do well. I personally use 15# power pro to 8# mono or 10# mono depending on the cover I’m fishing.
  10. I’m nowhere close to MN either but I want to echo what everyone else has been saying. The ‘perch’ and even more natural looking ‘yellow perch’ are great everywhere I’ve used them. I think a lot of inland bass in the northern part of the continent feed heavily on young of the year sunfish and perch, so those colours are perfect.
  11. Really hard to beat a wacky rig. I don’t fish docks much but my strategy is usually to throw a popper to see if any fish will expose themselves and follow the bait. After that, throw back with a wacky rig or 1/16 oz ned rig. I’ve found bass around docks to be mostly skittish, and I’m not sure why. Sometimes the follow up doesn’t always work.
  12. Of course they’ll still work. The bait falls differently depending on how it’s rigged or what it’s rigged on so a jighead is just another option. I think it would work well for an aggressive hopping or stroking retrieve.
  13. Scary stuff, but glad you’re okay. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
  14. I thought about mentioning that too but I didn’t want to offend anybody
  15. I don’t have enough combos to forget what line I have on them I’d probably use a notebook and write it all down or use an excel sheet as others already mentioned
  16. Picked my provisional team last night before the ownership % came out and they are pretty much all either the most owned or second most owned in their buckets ??‍♂️ Might change 1 or 2 buckets but I like my picks
  17. I dont know, sometimes I wonder if angling is REALLY becoming that much more popular. Compared to a few years ago, I run into less anglers than I used to. Or maybe it's just my perception of things.
  18. Since we're now all here again, Z-Man has added a new floating worm, the SMH Wormz. I'm sure they would work great too! But no point in fixing what's not broken
  19. Depends where I’m fishing. But for my style and the fishery i fish the most often, 1. MH/F baitcaster with 15# fluoro 2. M/F spinning rod with 15# braid to leader 3. ML/XF spinning rod with 10# braid to leader
  20. Single or double wire for me. I despise screw locks
  21. I thought I read only Falcon lake has produced more century marks? Can’t seem to find the article now Edit: I found the article, this was published prior to the start of the tournament. “Falcon Lake leads the B.A.S.S. Century Club list with 15 entries, with all 12 finalists in 2008 and three in 2013. Clear Lake is next on the list with seven from 2007. Lake Amistad, Santee Cooper and Lake Fork are tied with six entries, Guntersville has five and Okeechobee and Kissimmee have one each” https://www.bassmaster.com/news/daily-limit-belting-out-100-a-big-deal-for-elites/
  22. 3 fishing tomorrow! Looking pretty good but only Palmer is in contention for a win.
  23. May be able to find some answers on https://www.roughfish.com/species. It’s not an extensive list by any means but it’s a good place to start
  24. All 5 fishing tomorrow. By far my best event of the season 3 6 9 31 32
