  1. In a previous post he said its an H2O Xpress Ethos HD MH/F. I have that exact same rod and it casts just fine down to a true 1/4 oz.
  2. I agree ^ . Either not set up right or broken somehow since I believe it was a floor model.
  3. So you have a Curado DC which is an exceptional caster and you are considering a Piscifun Spark Pro? If you are not impressed by the Curado DCs casting, the Piscifun will likely be a let down. The rod should not be the issue as I have that same rod and it casts well down to the advertised 1/4 oz. Maybe someone can school me but a rage craw and 1/8 oz bullet weight casts well with a regular Curado K. Is the difference that much on a DC? For some reason I was under the impression DC reels were more forgiving in general and would give you optimal distance down to 1/4 oz.
  4. I am not directly familiar with the rod so I can't comment on that, but its probably best for you to change your line from braid with the larger swimbaits youll be throwing. I would suggest at least 20lb copoly or mono.
  5. Not with rods and reels but yes with baits
  6. Didnt have surgery, but did have a rotator cuff injury on my left shoulder. I began casting backhand - right handed as a means of getting around it but sometimes setting the hook still caused pain.
  7. As outlined in the book "In Pursuit of Giant Bass" pinch the split shot before tying the hook. Slide the split shot up and down to groove the lead. Put it at its desired depth, cut the damaged line and tie your hook.
  8. No no no. Cmon yall. The small plastic tackle box dividers fit that slot perfectly and will not scratch or nick the screw. You can tighten as tight as you want with those and the plastic will give out long before you do any damage.
  9. Its new. What happened is their new employee accidentally ordered too many and now they have to sell them to you at ridiculously cheap prices and they must GO! GO! GO!
  10. This is what I use and its worked great, however i dont thrown anything deeper than 22' or so. Am I the only one confused by the "makes it easier on the fisherman" argument? In my experience the palming hand fights the baits pull more than the cranking hand. It could be I just haven't fished anything that pulls hard enough to feel it on my cranking hand.
  11. I usually get 1 extra spool only and use 1 for copoly and 1 for braid.
  12. Stick to the proven color scheme?
  13. As long as the rod says made in Houston youre good. Even some of the ones that do not say made in Houston but have a solid plastic butt cap are good performers. Foam butt cap is another story. Are you trying to date the rod?
  14. Eagle claw 181 baitholder size 1 All types of fish, all types of baits
  15. I use the 6'6" model of this rod for deep crankin. While its on the shorter side for my preference, it is an excellent rod. In fact its probably my favorite rod. I have used that rod for everything from topwater and crankbaits to single hook lures like jigs and spinnerbaits. In fact, it excelled as a jig rod. Here's some info I found. Not sure if this will be of much help. source: https://www.google.com/books/edition/Bass_Fishing_Basics_or_Everything_a_Bass/88trBwAAQBAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq=all+star+fishing+rods&pg=PA55&printsec=frontcover If you ever want to sell, give me a price.
  16. Live bait on a splitshot should catch them. It might be WHERE youre fishing, not what youre throwing.
  17. You should be fine with that rod. I have no idea about the AMP series but the original lightning rods are proven so I probably wouldn't venture from that. Shock reel seats are enough to keep me from those as well. The Fuego CT is a Tatula CT without the T Wing so if you like your Tat CT youll probably like the Fuego just as much. What depth cranks do you plan on throwing?
  18. Berkley lightning rod Med/Mod does well for me for 1/4 - 1/2 oz cranks. Fuego is a good reel as well. I do not know if it comes in a 2 piece or not.

  21. Are they finally going to make chiller font an option!?!?!
  22. 23. Back to update this dead thread as I found something with less pull than the Dredgers ... Finally gave the Mann's Stretch T20 a shot. I was hesitant as I wasn't sure if it would do well since it seems to be a trolling lure. Anyhow if you want something that hits 15 - 18' with virtually no effort, this is the ticket. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/brandhardbaits.html?from=basres
  24. Not sure which will be easier on the paint but you might try to not catch too many fish as that does a number on the paint as well. Jk jk ... but in all seriousness it matters more to you than the fish.
