I just bought a pack of Powerbait General stick baits in Ike's custom color called Grimace. 2 colors of purple with flakes. I keep hearing here to use purple so going to give it a shot

Ive seen a picture of someone doing this. Or you could leave the hook and have a double hook Neko. Rig the main hook weedless like a chicken rig and have the crappie jig hook exposed.

I like the bubblegut Zman color. Have it in TRDs. Ive had ok luck with bubblegum Yum Breakin Shads. I tend to use either dark (black and blue or junebug) or what I consider natural like Zman The Deal or SK Moon Juice. My step dad uses all sorts of funky colors of Culprit worms and its hard keeping up with him using traditional colors. Speaking of a color that caught me by surprise, we were both fishing squarebills. I'm using sexy shad, I look at him and he is using baby bass. I never understood the effectiveness of baby bass.

Another thing I just thought of. Does anybody use a brush or anything to apply dip dye to specific areas? I'm going to try fluffing out a Qtip and use red or methylate to make it look like it's bleeding. But if there are better techniques i would love to know.

No it was about his top January baits. He was talking about underspins and that he fishes them deep this time of year, so if its there is any bit of clarity to the water he goes with white or pearl white down deep. He lives within an hour of me so what he suggests works for where I fish.

I watched a video with Edwin Evers and he said after about 15 feet deep colors become less and less important so that deep and deeper he uses all white or all black. That he has noticed zero difference between using multi colors or different colors. So white or black is all he uses.

To be honest i forgot about it for a long time then thought man i wonder if it's done? I want to try it out! If you ever revive the project in interested to see results.

Does anyone know if you can use JJs on Elaztech?

Went to BPS last night and they dont carry JJs or Megastrike. Much disappoint. I know academy has JJs but never seen Megastrike there so looks like another online order is in the works!

I keep hearing about Tommy Biffle basically inventing the swing head. I need to go down to Fort Gibson and fish it because that's where he is from and im sure is his home lake. Ita about a 45 minute drive for me. Gene Larew is local too so maybe I ought to try a pack of Biffle Bugs too.

Bumping this with questions. Im thinking about getting a red or methylate color dye to make tails of swimbaits look bloody. Is JJs still the deal? Ive used Spike It but never JJs. Also reading all these make me regret not getting a tube of Megastrike on my last tackle warehouse order and settling for Bang because I could buy it local. Big question. Can you use either on Elaztech? I know it's a weird special formula so I didnt know if it would hold up to dye.

I bet @Siebert Outdoors could answer that. Band or hand tied copper I believe are options on jigs. No idea the advantages.

My mom and older cousins told me about Mercurochrome but to me it sounds radioactive! I like where you are going with this!! I was just thinking today I need some red dip dye!

Thats like the color Methyolate. Pics dont seem to do it justice. It looks like a bright red to me.

That would be nice! I have a small jon boat so if I brought all mine they would take up so much space! But I'm still working on getting it water ready. Until then I over burden myself bank fishing and carrying sometimes 6 combos!
