In addition to the 2016 change of the lures name from Red Eye Shad to Red Eyed Shad, they also went from the blue Strike King logo to the red logo a year or two prior. I have heard that the plastic that the lures were made of was changed at a point either to counter the constant problem of paint flaking off or perhaps for the introduction of clear color models?

As has been said it is a great lure. Everything in the water treats it like it owes them money. In my waters the black back with white side and orange belly one is magical.

You described it accurately!! I chose the Falcon rod as my Father’s Day gift to myself for my 2 year old daughter and got to use it for like 45 mins til 8 inches of rod snapped as cleanly as if it had been cut by a laser. Disgusted mad sad.

My shops aren’t very close 40 mins to 1hr &40 away but I owe 95%+ of my lures to buying in person. I’d be shut down for collecting if my shops disappeared. Support small tackle shops!!!!

Just saw this on the shelf at Wally last night, will need one in my hoard. Solid colors in the lineup. Now if only they came with solid hooks ?

I knew among you fish fanatics that there would be a lot of knife men as well lol I have bought 2 Leatherman 2 Victorinox and been given 2 nock off Swiss Army knives in the last 2 weeks alone. I am headed to the knife cases today to handle that Fisherman model I mentioned in the first post. Knife monkey ?

That sound neat! I had never heard of a KVD approved pocket knife. I’ll have to try and find a pic of one. I have a set of those hanging around my neck on a lanyard. Hard to beat.

Just happened to see that there’s a Swiss Army knife called the Fisherman. It has a scaling blade with hook remover on the end, as well as the usual Victorinox knife components for 4 layers. The scissors will be handy with braid and the fish on the handle just sealed the deal. I’m gonna try to snag one this weekend. What is your ol faithful pocket knife and do you reach for it or do as the masses with scissors and multi plier tools?

I am not familiar with jumping bass either but trout, carp and mermaids- I see that often.
