  1. I don't use treble hooks in the kayak.
  2. Assume the hull is worth $500 and the rest of the value is trailer+motor and you won't be far off. ? I've got a '99 Triton TR-21 and I put a decent amount of hours every spring fixing/replacing things. One way or another it ends up being about a grand a year in repairs or upgrades. If you can do the work yourself it's not a bad deal.
  3. She's trying to scatter coyotes and scare away other animals. Judge was too heavy but I didn't know there was a lighter version, so we'll look into that. I wish we could just have a downsized M79 grenade launcher, lol.
  4. I can see why you aren't 100% satisfied with those, but it still looks like a great batch!
  5. Was it 2 piece? All the Lamiglas ones I found were 3+.
  6. So dragging a big Huddleston painfully slow is finesse? ?
  7. Sure, but where does it cross the line from downsizing a presentation to being finesse? And smaller is relative. Basically what I am saying is that "finesse" means different things to different people so it gets confusing.
  8. One of the core problems in my opinion is that there's no actual definition of finesse. Based on OP's post, it seemed to be equating a slower rate of fall to finesse, which isn't how I'd define it. I'm with you, they're hungry and want a meal. Though bigger and slower tends to work for me in post spawn.
  9. Awesome! Hopefully they work as well for you as they do me! I need to call Snack Daddy and ask when the ProTube line will be back in production.
  10. Stand/Lean. I have tall pedestal seats on my deck.
  11. Not just spinning. I just cut $10 of fresh Tatsu off one of my bait casters when the line just exploded out of it when the line went slack. However, you do tend to see this much more with spinning.
  12. It's a pretty solid bet that there's carp and/or catfish in most bodies of water that you fish.
  13. If it flies off the spool and knots up, then yes. I think you're golden judging by the picture though.
  14. Lucky you, they never picked me. ?
  15. So should we stop asking if a rod is sensitive and start asking which have the lowest threshold for mechanical response?
  16. The wife wants a .410 handgun to carry so she can have a sidearm with screamer/flashbang rounds. Any recommendations for a compact/lightweight option? An over under breach loader would be boss.
  17. Well, being dead for centuries will do that to you. I was hoping someone branded their hooks with his name. ?
  18. Got a link? I'm always in the market for murder-sharp hooks.
  19. 6pounder is kicking my tail. Caught some fish but no bass here yet.
  20. Maybe I will take up video games again when I am retired... So that'll be the 2070 version, lol
  21. For heavy cover spinning rod fishing, I use saltwater reels like 4000 Penns. Never had one bind up.
  22. This is exactly how I got into rod building. 1/3 of the way through stripping my first rod, I decided it was way too much of a time investment and just ordered a new blank. There's quite a few inexpensive blanks out there if you just want to practice. I ordered a kit for my first rod just so I knew all the components would be right. That rod looks horrible compared to my second rod, lol.
