Since you can't have enough MH combos and a crazy price jump, I decided to get a few Abu MAX combos. I started with two and caught fish with them from day one. They are not bad for $84. I spooled them with 12lb mono, and I think I am going to get two more. They're going to have the same kind of lure on them at all times, so I won't need to change it often while I am on the water.

@NorcalBassin yup, I filled up my 3500 dally, $400, and I am not kidding, I drove to the cheapest gas station and that's what it cost.

@bulldog1935 Wow, they are awesome combos for the job, I don't go so long; I have a few 9' and 10' ugly and berkley spinning but conventional side, all two speeds with 7'4" rods. Those setups of yours are so cool. Thanks for sharing.

@Jaybert My First loomise was Conquest 844mbr, and honestly, if I could have one rod for all my life, it would be 844mbr. Congrats and tight lines.

@Bass Rutten I might use that for some swimbaits as well, but I think I have enough to cover my swimbaits from 6" 3oz to 16" 24oz This one I am going to use for heavy cover in crazy cheese water in SoCal. or larger frogs 1oz or higher Texas rig weighted and etc... Do you have anything in mind?

I’m sharing my grandson’s catches with newly purchased lures. These Megabass lures, especially the new Karashi 80, are amazing. I’m not trying to take credit for his catches by sharing them, but somehow I’m taking a little credit too. 🤣 Pics

Visited the PCS Fishing Show in San Diego and picked up a refurbished Daiwa Lexa 300 to pair with my Champion XP 766. I spooled it with 65 lb J-Braid and will add a leader as needed. It looks beat up, but don’t let that fool you. First, the reel is a solid block of metal, and it free-spools like a high-end conventional reel. As most of you know, I’m a Shimano guy, but these Daiwa Lexa reels are amazing, so you can take that to the bank when I say it. LOL a

We went to PCS fishing show, and these are some of the lures we picked up there.

Aurora Glitter it is, loaded and ready with other lure Hinkle trout on other combo, and I'll start with them in a couple days and report back. Wish me luck.

Guys, I got two Deps 370 and I used one of them a couple of times, and now I am thinking, which one is the best to use and more productive for Socal Bass angler, So ill use that one and keep the other one in display.

Some DIY new fuzzy baits, going to report if I catch anything on any of them.

As far as I know, as long as I fish from the bank, I can't use my deep-diving crank baits, obviously. But I am hoping in the near future I'll buy my boat and they're going to be used regularly.

I catch my first BFS bass on trout magnet and wow, The feeling of fighting that 1.5lb bass hooked me, I start BFS fishing when it starts in Japan and I have/try so many fancy lures and I am still buying new arrivals (shocker), To cut to the chase nothing beats trout magnet when you cant catch fish on everything else. A trout magnet will catch fish. I go as high as 1/8oz for jighead, and that's Max.

@Harold H I have a few OGs in 8" and 10" as well. These are my 10"s picture. We here in SoCal knew about this bait when it was hand poure garage made.

I had one painful loss, and that was KGB Chad Shad, with which I catch/hunt couple of good bass with it. I had two of them, and after I lost that color, I bought two more same color, so now I have three in my arsenal. I can never get over that single lure

The ones for home are combo rods and reels, the one in the RV is separate. Keep the reels in the reel bag and rods all together. My saltwater rods are separate when not in season, but once deep sea starts, they stay on the rods for the whole season.
