  1. @HawkeyeSmallie I have P5 siglet for your application and I paired that with Aldebaran BFS. Right side combo is the siglet and that's the lure I am using it for.
  2. I have the same rod that I purchased for $200 😅, And I paired that with TranX 300.
  3. I have it and it is very special reel with great performance. Highly recommend to get it if you want to enjoy BFS fishing. Depending on your place you can pair it with short glass rod for river trout style fishing or longer graphite rod for lake fishing. I have mine paired with AIRE (JDM handwrapped) glass rod 5'6" and I am using it on river/creek fishing.
  4. This is Bob, Our backyard Bobcat He usually showing up at night but sometimes we can see him in daytime. Screenshot of ring camera.
  5. I had an injury at work back in 2014, and the pain and its disabilities always stayed with me, and they affect my performance on the water significantly. Since then, I've leaned towards high-end tackle, and the main reason for that was the weight of my combo. On a normal bass-fishing day, I cast more than 500 times, walk and carry that combo around, and after 8 hours, one-ounce lighter tackle counts. So having that in mind I decided to create a new topic for us and other anglers to use as a source on Rods and reels' weight, Any of us can share the combos and rod or reel weight for others to help them choose their combo that planing to buy. Ill use my digital scale with accuracy of +-1gr and I prefer to use gr for more precise results. I start it with My latest BFS combo: Rod: Dobyns 650 BFS (99gr) Reel: Shinami Curado BFS (177gr) Spooled Total Combo Weight: (276gr)
  6. My 5th BFS rod combo, which I absolutely needed 😁, I paired that with a brand new Curado BFS reel with 18lb Seaguar JDM braid and 7lb Seaguar Fluorocarbon leader material. Ready to use.
  7. Oh Tom, I am so sorry and sad to hear that. I had pleasure to meeting him few times and I got very nice collections of lures from him and he acted like a mentor to me. A true fisherman with lots of history and credit under his belt. A trophy hunter and trophy bass angler. We Bassresource family lost a very important member today. I always brag about him since I knew him personally. I wish him rest in peace and wish the best for his family.
  8. Guys it been some times that I want to get roro BFS spool for my curado but despite the discount, it will cost about $120 with shipping from their website. Any suggestions if we can find it cheaper somewhere?
  9. Merry Christmas to you All specially @Glenn and all the admins that make this happened and gather all of us cool people on earth together.
  10. I don't do grease, I just use bantam oil green cap for DC reels. But if you asking Star drag grease, I am using Cosmo Ace RB #2.
  11. I spooled it with my 21lb braid from Aldebaran and purchased 18lb test for my Aldebaran. Let's see how it will perform.
  12. @Jigfishn10 One small bluefin and six other 6 yellowfin, also a yellow tail, which was in cooler. @Eric 26 Honestly, two freezers full always, and we give fish out every time we have a chance to friends and family. Thanks for the comment.

  17. My second American BFS Style: Megabass P5 PopX and Aldebaran 22
  18. @MontanaBasser The trout magnet 1/16oz under spin jigs are the best in term of quantity of fish. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Lelands_Lures_Crappie_Magnet_Fin_Spin_Jig_Heads_3pk/descpage-CRDFS.html and in hard bait side:Bill Lewis Tiny Trap Rat-L-Trap 1/8oz in rainbow color https://www.rat-l-trap.com/rat-l-trap/tiny-trap-1-8-oz/
  19. We going to 3 day trip next week, Great catch you have there. I count your post as good sign 😁. It would be last offshore trip in this season.
  20. @Tennessee Boy I found it necessary to have it on water for not changing break adjustments, so I can change lures all 3gr for example, and not mix the weight and have to adjust breaks each time I change bait. IDK, maybe it is too much, but I have like 70 baits from 2gr to 5ge, and it is hard for me to remember or guess the exact weight.
  21. Got a new 50gr scale for BFS lures to keep it in tackle bag for weighing lures if I am not sure about weight of the. So far looks good and semi water resistant material so I know it can be use under rain as well. Got the brighter color but they have other colors available as well.50gr was plenty enough for me, But they have them up to 200gr as well.
  22. My Bedroom Combos, To nice to keep in RV or Gaurage.

I started BFS fishing in 2015, back when very few US anglers even knew about it. At first, I used mostly Japanese-made trout stream gear and discovered it worked surprisingly well for bass too. Recently, with the introduction of the Curado BFS to the US market and the rise of American-style BFS bass fishing, I decided to separate the Japanese BFS trout approach from the US bass fishing style. Here are my results: two combos—P5 Destroyer Siglett and PopX—cover all my BFS bass fishing needs. I pair an Aldebaran BFS 22 with the Siglett and a DC 25 with the PopX, along with some starter lures. I have a $200 order from Tackle Warehouse on the way, and $750 worth of items in my wishlist, waiting for the next discount to complete my collection. For line, I spool my reels with JDM Seaguar and Varivas lines.
