  1. I'm struggling to catch fish waters so cold...so yes spawn may be a minute
  2. So I've seen plenty of guys throwing digs at Randy the past year about his outspoken opinions and his stance on technology..and while I don't agree with his old man get off my lawn stance I've defended him. Until now. I just watched a video of his where he is complaining about too many tournaments being held. This is a guy who A) has now and in the past received sponsor money for selling fishing products B)does guiding on the water lessons to help make guys more efficient anglers aka tourney ready C) has talked at length about it being great seeing new anglers come into the sport and how we need to recruit new anglers so it doesn't die D) talked about his love for tournament fishing basically encouraging people to try it. So let me get this straight: you want new people to get into the sport and start tournament fishing to keep this thing alive while at the same time you want less tourneys so table rock lake isn't crowded for you? Get real man. What's next? He's gonna ***** that living rubber jigs are overused after he's been pushing his old school jigs in every video for the last 3 months? Apologies for the rant...just really grinds my gears.
  3. No bream spawn going on here...waters about 40ish
  4. I have a buddy that I panfish and walleye fish with...he's not a bass guy so we are meat hunting when we go. Got a good buddy whose also a member here...shout out @walt-14...but he's got like 46 kids ? so we don't get out as often as I'd like. My buddy Brian just got deep into the bass thing last year so since mid summer last year we've gone alot. That said I used to fish alone alot...I like being on my own time schedule, making all my own decisions kinda dying by the sword if you will. Today I got out by myself and had my best numbers day of the spring so far.
  5. I don't really hold my breath on any of them...they are all liars. Only job where you can suck and be wrong 100% of the time and people tolerate it.
  6. I live about 2.5hrs northeast of Omaha and have always heard about that place but never tried it.
  7. Oh yeah...when I lived in Texas we caught them all the time. Everybody called them piggy perch.
  8. What kind of fish is sailors choice?
  9. I've heard the texture of gar is similar to shrimp?
  10. I don't really know the specifics but I've seen several videos of David Fritts touting braid for cranking. Considering he's probably thrown a crankbait more than any other human alive there may be something to it.
  11. So I've got a buddy that loves to eat freshwater drum. I've also heard several people talk about gar being delicious... Maybe just a PITA to clean. Anybody here regularly eat any "less desirable" fish?
  12. Well sir nice work. You've caught more in 1 outing than I have in 6 or 7.
  13. Looks good to me. If you want an outside consultant for testing you can send me one in white\chartreuse and one in mouse...ill send you a full report after a month or two?
  14. 2 springs I ago I started my open water season off right by catching a 7lb fatty the first week of April on a Cordell super spot. I was glad the water was so cold cuz she didn't jump...I considered it a small miracle to land her.
  15. I already have some
  16. Ah yes my friend..upside down world..I have been there!
  17. Ned rig- first time throwing one I smoked em then I tried stuffing it into a box it wasn't designed to fit in and went fish less for years on it. Then I did my research and went to work with it. A couple summers back I was fishing the middle of the day, from shore in 100 degree weather and I caught like 15 on it including several over 3lbs. Since then I almost always have a Ned rod with me and I bet its caught me several hundred fish on it. Dropshot- this one ticks me off. Won't rant to much but no it hasn't worked out and it never will. If I had to resort to this as my last ditch effort I'd just go home and watch fishing on YouTube.
  18. So in my searches for compact spinnerbaits I found these-I was excited to see they have a mag willow compact model and after searching YouTube I saw a few videos of Seth Feider touting them. Then I looked at the price: $13 each ...don't list what hook they use it just says premium hook...doesn't even have a wire tied skirt. My question is what makes them so special? Does anybody have experience with them? Am I missing out by writing them off due to price or are they just another overpriced bait?
  19. I have these exact ones
  20. Awesome! Hey man I need to fix my trailer and I need your help...oh what do you need me to do? Oh its pretty tough just take my boat out by yourself for several hours and catch a bunch of largemouth...you available? Um...yes please
  21. Ha yeah like somehow because of the times we live we aren't allowed to protect ourselves. Guy walks up to you with a knife and says give me your wallet..instead of pulling your gun your supposed to say yes sir here's my wallet...oh and I threw in my truck keys and the deed to my house as well...anything else I can get you?
  22. Lots of guys on here talking crap about guys carrying a firearm. First thing, I never saw anybody post that they would use said firearm because somebody rolled up on their fishing spot..its not about that...its about a guy rolling up on you in your spot trying to make a physical altercation happen. Don't underestimate how aggressive and stupid the other guy can and will be. Oh and second thing, its easy to judge somebody when you don't live where they live or understand the things they deal with. I grew up in Houston in the 90s...at that time Harris county was one of the most dangerous places in the country. Car jacking, robbery, gang beatings, serial killings...you name it. You have two choices living in a situation like that: have a means of protecting yourself or become a statistic because guns are dumb.
