Lots of good suggestions here...I like the stir fry idea but my lady doesn't like shellfish in Chinese for some reason. I do marinate and skewer shrimp often...that's always a good option. this sounds awesome..kind of like a new Orleans style scampi. I'm gonna try this on the smoker.

Yep..if its alive, in the water and a bass can get its mouth on it..its toast. I've seen them eat "normal" things..baitfish,panfish,craws...and other things like snakes, mice and rats, bats, birds.

So I've got a bunch of big shrimp and I'm looking for some recipe ideas? Would like to keep it low carb for diet reasons so I'd like to avoid fried, bread,pasta...rice dishes welcome because I can sub in cauliflower.

Had a guy ask me a few springs back if I'd caught anything that day. I said yeah I caught a nice largemouth about 10 minutes before he got there..he said its too cold so I don't believe you. I said your right..then I shook my head in his face and walked away.

I take pics of better than average bass to share with my lady and my buddies. Also sometimes as a fishing log for myself to look back on time of year, weather and bait choice. As far as taking pics as proof here's my take..people I care about knowing will believe me if I have a pic or not..anybody who won't take me at my word? Probably people whose opinion means absolutely nothing to me. Mostly I take pics for me not to prove my claims to strangers.

I order my rods, baits, line and various other miscellaneous items from tackle warehouse. For jigs, shaky heads, tungsten and rage plastics I normally order from Siebert. I've personally never had a bad experience with either. Mikes responsiveness,prices, quality and helpful attitude makes Sieberts a winner. Maybe I've just been lucky with tackle warehouse thus far..my buddy has had a few issues. If I encounter ridiculous issues like some are having I'd look elsewhere also. That's the beauty of the internet..lots of options for us tacklehounds.

I agree with this. I've placed 3 or 4 orders since Christmas.. I've not been hacked..had 2 rods delivered in perfect condition..and received every order at or before the estimated delivery date. Anytime I've had an issue they were very helpful and only one time they couldn't resolve it..that was a visa gift card and the issue was with the card not them.

My buddy had Covid...his wife and son both dodged it. As far as what's going on? You have covid. I'd get retested.

I agree this topic could be dicey on here at best because its political and I could see it easily degrading into an argument with people pushing opinions or beliefs. Because of that I won't get very far into it...but I will say I read up on it yesterday to see the justification for it..and I don't get it.

The bronco looks pretty cool. See that my local dealer has a bronco outer banks sport model..sharp looking. Honestly the price isn't as awful as I woulda thought either.

I've caught a decent number of big bass over the years..well big for my area..6+ is big around here. The best advice I can give is fish when other people don't in places others don't think to fish. I've got a local pond that's county run that people think has no big fish...advantage for me as I rarely have competition for good spots. My PB of 8lbs 12oz came from this pond years ago with countless 6s, a handful of 7s and even another 8 over the years. Most of my big bass have come from cold water...April, May and October being prime months...and often in cold, windy and or rainy conditions. So if you have a small body of water that gets relatively low pressure from anglers hit it early and often during less than ideal conditions and see what happens. As for baits I've caught big bass on a number of things...ned, wacky,lipless, chatterbait, buzzbait, frog. Hands down for me the 2 best producers of outsized fish over the years have been a spinner bait and a jig.

Preferred mono for leaders? I started doing braid to leader last year and used 8lb Trilene XL with good success.

I've never really thought about it much..until now! I probably should come up with a plan. Speaking of never know my supervisor gets a call from his mom and work Thursday and says well this can't be good. A distant relaitve..like 2nd cousins husband...had hip surgery last week. Well the surgery went perfect but while the guy was in the recovery room he had a massive heart attack and he was gone. Think he was like 50-52.

Nice looking ride. After my initial post I went and looked at the cross trek sports...right up my alley. I don't think I'm gonna be doing any mudding or rock climbing to justify the cost of the wilderness package.

Well I'm considering getting a new vehicle and I'm having some desire to get into a car or SUV instead of pickup. I like my truck just fine but I don't pull a boat or camper so I don't really have use for a truck. I've been looking at the Subaru outback and forester wilderness packages and like what I see. Any Subaru drivers out there? How do you like them?
