  1. Saw these on tackle warehouse on sale for $2.60 for a 10pk. Not sure if anybody has ever used them. I'm sure they aren't as good as a yamamoto but I like big bite stuff and for that price I had to try them. They any good?
  2. Ill elaborate further...I left a razor shad glued on a chatter bait custom for at least 3-4 months and saw no ill effect.
  3. Anybody heard from or know how he is doing? I know last spring he said he was stepping away for a while to deal with some personal issues. I miss his insight and his instructional YouTube vids. Just curious how he is doing.
  4. Placed an order earlier with no issue
  5. Ha....been there bud
  6. Do I have moron moments? Sure..can I list them? Um not now as I have plans in 2hrs so there's not enough time to cover them. Heres one...this past fall I'm fishing a 1\4oz redeye at my local lake. Using a hop style retrieve and I'm catching bass and white bass at a pretty decent clip. Rip up on the drop feel a thump and lean into a good fish. After fighting only a few minutes I realize this is no bass. Fight it for a solid 5+ minutes and get it close to see its a buffalo hooked in the back. I work it close and grab the line to drag it up on shore...just then the fish surges, bait shoots back like a slingshot and smacks me in the forearm. No big deal ill just pull it out of my shirt and ouch...oh sh#$ its thru my shirt buried in my arm. A bolt cutter snip here and plier yank there and back to fishing with only 5 hook points left.
  7. It has a decent subtle action..I think it would be good on a swim jig in cold water.
  8. Well my first outing of the year will be different from you as it will be at ice out and the water temps will likely be under 40. All that said my rundown will be: 2 baitcasting setups- finesse jig and jerkbait. 2 spinning setups- Ned rig and shaky head/vmc finesse rugby with a small worm. For a wildcard 5th rod- baitcaster with a finesse swim jigs or 1\4oz lipless in case it gets warm fast and pushes fish shallow. Ill likely start mid afternoon like 2-3 and fish til 6 targeting the warmest sun hit banks I can find. Rocks are a bonus heat source.
  9. Like you in one word...challenge. No two days or set of conditions are exactly the same even on the same body of water...solving the puzzle is the fun part. Helps my troubleshooting ability at work as well. The other thing..stress relief. I've tried hunting, reading, drinking...lol. Nothing else gets my stress level in check like fishing.
  10. I threw those last year..may be my new favorite trailer
  11. I share bass info with 2 people..a good buddy who is also a good bass angler and I trust him to give me quality info in return. The other is my best buddy of 15 years who just started bass fishing last year..he keeps his yap shut.
  12. @Bluebasser86 shall be along shortly....
  13. I've been on a diet for going on 2 months...as of last week I'd lost 17.5lbs in 7 weeks averaging 2.5lbs a week. Some weeks I allow myself a cheat day and some weeks I dont. One cheat day we had sushi for lunch and a local Italian place for dinner...it was fantastic. One week I had delivery pizza..it was very good. One week I had taco bell for lunch and McDonald's for supper..both sucked and made me feel like a pile of crap.
  14. I use it for manageability and casting ease reasons on spinning..for frogs I use it for horsepower.
  15. Good luck to you I hope you find your motivation. Mine was simply I was tired of being 38 and feeling like crap all the time. I've got a long journey ahead of me to get where I want and a lifelong new to keep it there...but I'm making progress.
  16. It was the thermocouple... Up and running now
  17. I can turn the gas knob to pilot push the red button in and get it to light but as soon as I let go of the button the flame goes out. I think its the thermocouple from what I understand.. I however am no expert.
  18. So on my kick to lose weight\get healthy we decided lets get an elliptical and a treadmill. So I dropped a grand on that...then my dryer went out. Needs a new belt, new idler pulley, door latch etc..and its 10+ years old so I went out today and spent $735 on a new one. Then tonight I'm sitting in my living room...man its cold..touch my base boards heaters and yep boiler is out. Check thermostat and it says heat on. Go downstairs and the pilot light is out. Manually relight it and of course it won't stay lit. Pretty sure the thermocouple is bad..which we just replaced a few years back. Come on man.
  19. Care to elaborate or is this a fort knox situation?
  20. So everybody throws stuff like the zako, the menace grub, keitech style swim baits, speed craws, flukes, hog farmer spunk shad or rage bugs on the back of a bladed jig. Is there anything you like to put on the back of a bladed jig that really works for you that doesn't get mentioned much?
  21. I have a good buddy who is a very good pan fisherman and an avid bow hunter. He's tried for years to get me into bow hunting..but its just not my thing. I have no issue killing an animal or fish...hunting just doesn't appeal to me never has. I eat fish quite regularly.. I don't enjoy the killing part but I don't hate it either its just a necessary part of the cycle of meat consumption. I try my best to make sure the fish don't suffer and they don't go to waste..that's my best way to honor the sacrifice of life.
  22. I agree with you...I've thrown them extensively for 20 years think I've only caught maybe 3 or 4.... Thousand bass on them.
  23. Bingo buddy that's what I'm trying to do. At 215 I wasn't ripped by any means but I was a good combo of strength and cardio. I could run a long ways and lift heavy things. Then I got up to 290...could barely lift my cheeseburger and milkshake...wouldn't even have dared trying to run. Im working on it.
