  1. Oh your humor is not lost on me sir You know I've wanted to try a procyon for a while now as I've never had one..this may be the deal after all! I like the new lightning rods alot but I'm picky about length for my worm and jig rods. I like 7'1 to 7'4..and the lightning doesnt come in those off sizes. Like I said its nit picky..if my budget was under $50 it would be an easy choice..but my budget is around $80-$100 so I can swing a little more. Plus I've got a buddy that really likes his procyon so if I don't like it I can sell it to him and buy 2 lightning rods!
  2. Fair enough...thanks for the info
  3. This is your answer for what is your favorite flipping bait, search bait, finesse bait or supper on the way home if you didn't catch fish
  4. I haven't but I'm not sure why not. I have a new gen 7ft medium moderate fast and its a great trap rod for the price. May be worth a look..but I am leaning towards can ark.
  5. So do you like the lancers more than the cobbs? How much power difference is there between a medhvy and a mag medhvy?
  6. Depends on the cover. Lots of lay downs or rock I like a spinnerbait...grass or scattered stick up its A swim jig...Clean bottom I use a lipless.
  7. I haven't experienced any problems. I ordered a rod and about $50 worth of baits and terminal tackle last week..after my discount code and gift card it was only $93. Got the tackle Tuesday and the rod yesterday. Had a confirmation email in a few hours and a shipping email in 2 days.
  8. I've been drinking Michters Rye the past few weeks..its fantastic
  9. So I just bought myself a new popper/jerk bait rod...A 6'9" majorcraft nanoace. Now obviously I'm locked in ice for at least the next 6 weeks so I can't comment on performance. But my initial thoughts are: 1) the rod is light and perfectly balanced 2) the action seems to be perfect for what I want..the right flex in the right place 3) the fit and finish are perfect..nice styling and clean wrap and epoxy work 4) solid components on this thing...full guides and reel seat. Overall I'm very impressed and have no reason to doubt it will perform like I want. This is a helluva stick for $100...I had a 20% coupon so I got it for $80 which is even better! I wanna shout out @WRB..he has touted these rods on here numerous times and personally recommended them to me. Thank you sir you did not lead me astray.
  10. Walleyes, bluegill and crappie.
  11. I pretty much throw green pumpkin 95% of the time all year for flipping jigs...swim jigs and bladed jigs are a different story.
  12. Fair point
  13. That driveway plugging stuff the plow throws is the worst. I know those guys are just doing a job but every time it happens I still wanna rip the guy out of his truck and beat him to death.
  14. Ain't that the truth. I caught my Pb when I was 20...8lbs 12oz...that's a beast up here in Iowa where our record is 10lb 14oz. 18 years later I'm still trying to best it.
  15. Thanks for the info. The reel I have is a small framed reel so I think ill go with the lancer.
  16. How do you like the lancer pro compared to the tharp?
  17. All you guys saying the north shore thing isn't real are absolutely right. I've seen it played out for 20 years hundreds of different times but its just been a strange "coincidence" every single time and not a pattern.
  18. Its about underpromise and over deliver
  19. Obviously everybody has had different experiences. I'd bet most of you don't experience the water temps I do up here. Maybe that's why my bass respond differently...in the ponds I fish the north shore thing happens.
  20. Love falcon rods..this may be a good option. Never ordered from there before.
  21. Both seem like solid options...buddy has a 7' medium fast procyon casting...feels like a nice rod for the money. I have a Tharp series Ark rod that I really like. Wish I would have picked up a lancer pro during the TW sale.
  22. So I already have several jig rods and I've got an extra reel begging for another one. I'd like to keep the price down on this one if possible since I've spent about 8 million on gear in the past 6 months. Lets say sub $80?
  23. I've never had luck with firetiger anything...bladed jigs, spinnerbaits, crankbaits. Now solid chartreuse on the other hand...
  24. I've got fresh snow on the ground and its 14..so I feel her pain. The cabin fever has set in at my house to...I'm just laying here wagging my tail.
