  1. Fairly regular. Last year I caught pike, crappies, white bass, drum, bluegills, buffalo and even a catfish or 2.
  2. That's a fair point and one that is not lost on me. But the common thing I keep seeing in these responses is maybe he's dealing with alot of stress. My question is just because I'm not a boss does that mean I don't deal with stress at work and home? Also lets say I talked to him that way..think he would have just waited for my apology or would I have been punished? Case in point I was unjustly confronted by a supervisor several years ago in a room full of my peers and I was confrontational back. I admitted my fault in the situation and apologized...also my supervisor went to bat for me saying I was provoked and disrespected. Even after all that my job was still threatened..I honestly thought I may be fired. The guy that threatened my job? The guy that just did this to me a few weeks ago. Just trying to figure out why the rules don't apply to everybody. Maybe he should suspend himself for 2 weeks without pay. Job title doesn't put you above the law.
  3. He's kinda like that guy..but..you know...not funny
  4. Things like that never happen with me I'm always calm and level headed and never take things out on people (he says sarcastically)
  5. I agree that my defensiveness is a problem and that confronting him about it will probably only lead to a bad situation. However the issue I'm having is the hypocrisy of the entire deal. There are work mantras plastered on our walls saying..we park our egos at the door..everyone is equal nobody is better than anybody...we are all here to work towards the same goal. Then a manager goes and does something like that and it lessens the impact of those statements by basically saying I'm the boss so those sayings don't apply to me because I'm above the rules that I implemented. To me its a sad display of power. Again I agree that its best to just move past it. Its difficult for me but getting into a ticking match with my boss is pointless. Guess if it doesn't improve I can find a new job then be frank with the management team about why I'm leaving. In reality I probably just needed to vent so thank you guys for listening to my ranting. I know I'm gonna just move past it and keep on trucking. Age has tempered my aggressive tendency thankfully. 10 years ago I would have told him to go F himself and dared him to escort me off the property. I'm glad I put more thought into it these days.
  6. Find that hard to believe since we are hiring for several positions and he created a new position specifically for me. I wish this was possible for me and I envy people that can do this but I'm just not wired to allow people to treat me like scrap or walk all over me...its not in my DNA. I'm trying my best! I believe we are at that level..I mean we talk about sports and music outside of work so there is at least some level of friendship..and we've known each other a long time. I also wondered if he had personal issues but never really allowed that thought to fully develop because I don't condone treating people like sh#$ because your outside life sucks. But on the other hand you may be right..it may be a cry for help type deal where he needs an ear.
  7. So I've been working at an Ethanol plant for about 8 years. In that time I've moved up from operator 1 to lead plant technician 3. That entire time I've had a good relationship with my boss and in that time he's moved from Ops manager to Plant manager. In fact he and our general manager created a new position for me so I can focus on some more high level projects instead of the day to day samples and truck loading monotony. Of course over the years we have had a few disputes/arguments but we have always worked them out relatively easily. Then a few weeks back he crossed the line. He was unhappy with a shutdown result so he came into the control room in front of some techs that I lead and scolded me. Disciplining somebody in front of others is unprofessional period...especially when its done in an aggressive, accusatory manner with profanity. Now I'm not one to get my feelings hurt but I gotta be honest I was taken aback by this. Well fast forward a few days and I found out that after my interaction with him he was rude to my supervisor in the same way in front of his operators. He ended up talking to us and apologizing to us for his unprofessional behavior. Then yesterday he was talking to me about coverage on today's day crew. He knew the scheduled supervisor was out on vacation so he went about it in an offhand way to try and guilt me into coming in. When I didnt offer to come in he got pissy and walked away. So what I wanna do is schedule a meeting with him and say hey as#%&-+ why are you trying to run your best people off? What's your F ing problem? Obviously for the sake of professionalism and possibly my job I'm not going to do that. I'm looking for advice on the right way to approach this?
  8. Fantastic!
  9. I guess its more of a small lake...guess we always called it a pond but its a little bigger than that.
  10. Like mentioned above lots of variables in play here.Time of year...size of water body...skill level of anglers. All things even I'd say the boater has the advantage. However I've fished my local pond from shore when a guy in a $60000 boat was also fishing it and put a beating on him. That has happened more than once.
  11. We are doing our Christmas that night with my family. Making a bunch of appetizers and hanging out for a while. Then ill probably come home put on Frasier and tear into the whiskies I got for Christmas from my girlfriend and her mom.
  12. So all I've used are the 4.5 standard size. Nobody around here sells robos so how fat are we talking?
  13. Yeah I agree..I never do them that far in advance because of memory.
  14. I've seen a few times where guys are almost fanatical on here about green flake.
  15. Obviously some foods are worse than others..eggs have cholesterol sure but what are you gonna do? A guys gotta eat something. Breathing...hell living causes death...you try your best to eat healthy but in the end we are a machine working towards self destruction.
  16. The first Matrix came out in 99 the same year Fight Club came out..both were perfect for a 16 year old boy. The matrix movies that came after were shells of the original..ill avoid the new one.
  17. That's refined bread flour for you buddy. Amazing what your body can do when you aren't poisoning it with 500% your daily intake of carbohydrates. Problem is bread is d**n delicious and the perfect vehicle to get even more delicious various meats and cheeses to your face.
  18. Kind of a deep dig here. For soft plastics I'd wager that black is the most used flake color. This year for some reason I became partial to copper flake. What's your favorite soft plastic flake color?
  19. We are in a sandwich dead zone around me. Only 2 available are jimmy johns and subway. I don't mind jimmy johns but I can make a better sandwich at home. My old lady loves Subway but I think it sucks.
  20. That's cool. I live in Iowa..we have 5in of ice and the wind chill was -2 when I woke up.
  21. Ive used single tail grubs, swim baits and various craws...now days its a menace grub 100% of the time
  22. I'm the same way...a real student of the game. Open water season I fish...alot. Winter I'm reading articles, watching YouTube videos and picking brains on here. Learning about it and prepping \tweaking tackle is all part of the fun.
