  1. What part don't you understand?
  2. I feel like versatility is the key to be successful all season.Gotta have finesse and power or your missing bites.
  3. Yes...idiots. Its been discussed on here before that many tough guy macho fisherman think using a spinning rod is for wimps. Those are usually the guys getting beat in tournaments by 75 guys using spinning gear. Pride comes before the fall.
  4. We have an unspoken bond my friend..operating on the same wavelength
  5. So for years I was mainly a typical power fisherman...spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, top waters and jigs. This past season I dedicated myself to getting more proficient at finesse fishing...and against my initial thoughts towards finesse I actually really began to enjoy it as much as power fishing. I also will ad that although my numbers of top end fish was lower this year..not sure if this was attributed to my tactics or just drought related...the positive was in the numbers I caught in the dog days. Typical summer outings around here can result in a skunk or maybe 1-2 fish...I'd say I averaged 3-5 fish an outing this summer. Because of all of this I spent as much time with a spinning rod in my hand this past year as I did a baitcaster..something that is new to me. Even though I spent all that time toting the sissy stick fairy wand I feel as though I turned a corner in my fishing adding alot of tools to the box and I don't feel like I lost any manliness despite popular belief.
  6. For me I prefer June bug over B&B by a wide margin. I know that's probably an unpopular opinion since Black blue is part of the color holy trinity...White (father), B&B (son) and green pumpkin (holy spirit)...But plain and simple June bug is more productive for me. Which do you prefer...June bug or black blue?
  7. If you ask me..no I don't have enough stuff. Now you ask my old lady..I shoulda stopped 15 combos and thousands of dollars ago. On the other hand I don't hunt, golf, build hot rods, hit strip clubs, close the bars or snort booger sugar..so I'm not "wasting" money on anything else.
  8. Both excellent choices..especially Dewey cox. In that same vein I love Macgruber.
  9. Earliest is usually March..alot of years its early april
  10. Yep we've all had our share of bad deals and hard times..some people just handle it differently. 5 years ago I witnessed a very bad accident at work where a contractor working at our plant got horribly burned..he died from his injuries the next day. Some things you cant un-see. I was never a firefighter or EMT so I was not equipped for that or the thoughts that came in the aftermath..took me a long time to get thru it. A few years back my best buddies wife lost a childhood friend..a girl she had known almost her whole life. A young, attractive mother. Her father came home one day and she had hung herself in the barn. Just awful..nothing else to say.
  11. Don't think a warm up will.do us any good..our ponds are already covered with ice
  12. But this ball was signed by Babe Ruth...yeah you keep telling me that..who is she?
  13. THE GREAT BAMBINO
  14. Bingo...we have a winner
  15. This is how I feel..especially in my current position. I have no college education but I'm doing ok. I started as Op 1 in October of 13- was an Op2 by 2016- Plant tech 2 in Sept. Of 19-Plant tech 3 Dec.of 2020 and as of last month I'm Lead plant tech and water chemistry manager. I would never discourage anybody from getting an education but if that's not for you then work hard, use your brain and take on challenges. Then you will be successful.
  16. I think there is a misconception here that the altercation is about a fishing spot..its about lack of respect and people thinking they are better than everybody else. Most people I've ever encountered have apologized for entering an area I'm fishing..they usually just weren't paying attention. In that case I say no problem at all and if you want feel free to fish by me if you want. Its when you say hey man I'm fishing here would you give me a little room and they respond you don't own the lake you stupid as$%&#@ that I take exception to it.
  17. Ain't nothing wrong with life's simple pleasures my dude
  18. Fried fish and a high life ? There's a man who knows how to live!
  19. I'm talking about movies that are not high on best of lists and are generally regarded as not great but you love and can watch over and over. Ill start: the movies of the broken lizard group- Super troopers, Beer fest and Club Dread. All are very dumb with poor plots but I can't help but laugh..they are perfect background noise when I'm cooking or cleaning and don't want to listen to music. What you got?
  20. Another one that seems to be prevalent that I haven't experienced but have seen and heard about is people that think fishing is cruel ruining it for someone. Look maybe you don't agree with it but it is perfectly legal to fish so spend your energy trying to get the laws changed instead of harassing anglers..which is illegal. People often escalate things then get crybaby boo boo when somebody fights back. But if you come up to me, threaten me and throw my personal property into the lake...chances of something bad happening to you are pretty high. PS let me add that my last few posts indicate that I'm a hot head who may be looking for a fight. That's not the case and in general I don't like violence or confrontation but sadly enough that's what some people respond to. I don't wanna fight but also will not allow someone to treat me like a doormat.
  21. I'm not sure if its ever really "complete" but I've got 5 spinning bass combos and probably 20 casting..so it's complete ish.
