Blue JJs magic..
So every time I read an article or post about lure dyes all I really hear about is orange and chartreuse. Got me wondering does anybody use the blue?

High End Gear
Most of my gear is budget to mid tier. Most expensive combo I own is under $400. I'd say for me the safe zone is $100-$150 per rod and same for reel. All that stated I've got plenty of budget stuff for non bottom contact techniques. Funny enough my favorite Ned combo is an old $50 pflueger president on an $18 Shakespeare micro series rod. My other Ned rig combo is a dobyns Sierra 702 And a 2500 Daiwa regal. The combo I prefer is $68..the other combo is $230. Don't get me wrong the Sierra combo is a beaut but the other one just feels right.

Crawfish stealing Bait
Try using a pole float and adjust the depth until the float lays over on its side which means its on bottom then adjust it from there. If you stay within a few feet of bottom the cats will eat and that should keep crays at bay.

Bass Recipes
I'm in the catch and release camp for bass..mainly because I'm not a huge fan of the taste but value them for sport. I however do not care what other people keep and eat as long as they have a license and follow limits. When I want fish to eat I go crappie or bluegill fishing..in the winter I spend alot of time chasing perch. Those along with walleye I happen along are my eating fish. Don't mind a nice small catfish out of cold water from time to time.

Randy's at it again...
Just watched an interview with them on Dave Mercers podcast and it sounds like they are doing YouTube fulltime..no more day jobs. But you are correct they are they exception not the rule when it comes to fishing channels on youtube. Maybe part of the problem is me..guys like Milliken and Randy probably aren't ever gonna be what tacticalbassin are for me so I'm holding them up to an impossible standard and judging them harshly when they fail to reach the mark. it does not go unnoticed and its is greatly appreciated!

Aaron Martens update....
Ok guys this is getting dangerously close to lockdown I fear because of the religious based bickering and picking back and forth. We all can agree I believe that we are at the very least thinking of and hoping for something miraculous for Aaron. I would hate to see a good cause like this get shut down by a mod because of belief pushing. Time to park egos at the door and join each other in what we are all here for..supporting Aaron and his family in this trying time.

My fiance posed a VERY interesting question:
Significant difference between inexpensive and cheap.

Randy's at it again...
How's that the same? You go to work and make stupid, teenage click bait YouTube videos? Also people single out the audience that got them where they are when they completely change styles after they make it...that's what he did. He can do anything he wants and I don't fault him for making as much money as he can but I won't watch his caught my pb 8 times, spill way monster then lost $188000 worth of swimbaits videos anymore. Also the part that stinks the most is it doesn't have to be that way..Tacticalbassin has as many subs as Milliken and they aren't fake.

I found out how some guys are casting 100 yards
Right? My biggest walleye this year was 76lbs...or was it 7.6lbs? Oh who cares its all the same. Oh and I can cast my Abu revo 300 yards with 12lb even tho it only holds 150.

Randy's at it again...
Don't bring up milliken..its a sore subject for me. He is from my neck of the woods and I watched him since he started...until he started making clickbait videos instead of actual fishing videos. I realize he's making a living but to say his new videos suck is an understatement. As for Randy he was on yesterday promoting Matt Stefans new video talking how hard it is to make a living fishing. I've been very patient with Randy because I like his instructional and regular fishing videos. But all he posts now is how YouTube is screwing tournament anglers, tech is ruining fishing and its impossible to make a living tournament fishing. I'm about at my wits end with his crybaby crap. Here's an idea...want more stability? Maybe get a real job like the rest of us for the first time in your life

Aaron Martens update....
Yeah this really sucks. Aaron has always been one of my favorites... He had a unique combination of instinct and at the same time a very educated cerebral approach. He understands bass on a level most of us can only dream of. Not only that but he has always just seemed like a genuine nice guy. I'm still pulling for him as I'm a believer that anything can happen but this is definitely not positive news.

Mojo\slipshot rig questions...
So for you guys that regularly fish this...is it a good option for cold water? Lets say 40-50 degrees. Also I know guys throw worms, finesse craws and reapers etc...how about a small tube?

Adding scent/attractants to commercial soft plastics
Agreed. That's why I'm undecided on scent. At this point everybody has a few basic shapes, colors and sizes they rely on that produce for them for whatever reason- Also most guys have some spots that always produce a few bites for them. I have never caught a bluegill or shad or crawfish that smelled like coffee or garlic but those are two of the best selling scents I can think of. Do they really help? Sure..why not
-
Adding scent/attractants to commercial soft plastics
Agreed...although I think profile can be important. Color, scent not so much. Obviously location trumps everything imo.

Iovino soft plastics...
What color us s20?

Adding scent/attractants to commercial soft plastics
For standard baits I don't feel like the plastic absorbs any of the scent. Just coats the outside which is good to cover your scent and also keeps the baits lubed up in the bag so they don't stick and lay straighter. Now with zman stuff that may be a different deal. I've found that when a z man bait is really well broken in...TRDs in my example...they lose all salt and soak up water like a spong. I would think if you stretched or soaked a bag of zman baits until they are spongy they should absorb scent. Scent is an up and down topic and nobody can seem to agree on it. Some guys swear by it and some guys say it doesn't do crap..but most people agree that at the very least it doesn't hurt. I only use scent in super cold water when I'm soaking a bait for a long period of time working it painfully slow. Does it help? No clue...but I like it and feel like it works...and you know what they say about confidence.

Hi my name is CrashVector and I'm a tackleholic
Should check out tackle warehouse over BPS. Better prices and a much better selection. Plus if you spend enough you get free stickers..free shirts. More and better gear for the same cost plus free stuff...no brainer! Oh and they do gift cards as well!

How much wasted tackle?
If by Y spinners you mean spinnerbaits then no they are not the bait of 1000 casts. In fact they are one of the best lures ever designed. I second @Scott F in his question and will go a step further and actually say that just because you haven't caught fish on a certain bait or technique does not make them bad. Tools are designed to help us complete jobs it is not the tools job to tell us when and how to use it...that is up to the user.
