Light Texas rig-bead or no bead?
Thanks for the info I may have to try it!

Smoke color worms?
Is this a thing? Are they predominantly a clear water deal?

Light Texas rig-bead or no bead?
I'm glad you chimed in about the slip shot rig...how does it perform in light to moderate weeds?

2.25 hour drive or 7 minutes? Haha
Anymore for me I have just as much fun staying close...lets say 45 minutes or closer...for a day or half day trip. I'm not an old man but I will say if you get up before the sun spend 6-8 hours in the sun and had 4-6 hours of driving on top of it I don't care who you are that's a long day. If I plan on fishing that far away I stay overnight...get up and fish in the morning a few hours then head home.

Light Texas rig-bead or no bead?
I was meaning 1\16-1\8 and small 4-4.5in worms.

Light Texas rig-bead or no bead?
For those that like to throw a light Texas rig...finesse worms,roboworms...do you like to use a bead? What brand and size do you prefer? Guess the old brass and glass got me thinking about this today.

The wrong one
Me and my lady have a little thing worked out where as long as the bills are paid there's no judgement on buying personal stuff. She buys art supplies, books, clothes or coffee...I buy fishing gear. Sounds like we both found good ones.

Lures that lost popularity?
I shouldn't have put a negative connotation around YouTube fisherman as a whole. I think you know what I was saying!

Lures that lost popularity?
Ill chime in on the spinner bait losing its favor around here as well. Everybody here I've seen the past few years are what I'd call YouTube fisherman...young guys only throwing googan stuff, whopper ploppers and chatterbaits. Nary a swim jig, flipping jig, plastic worm or spinnerbait in sight. I like it that way!

Fun Lures for Bass
Depends on your definition of fun. If fun is exciting hard strikes then a buzzbait is tough to beat. If you want to catch numbers of fish then a Ned rig or small worm Texas rigged or split shot rigged should do the job.

Better than coffee
When I read the title I thought this may be a pro cocaine propaganda piece.

Do you carry cash?
Usually have $150-$300 cash on me normally 50s and 20s. Pay for most things with credit card and pay it off every month.

Situational Fishing
Those are my favorite posts honestly..they always make me laugh. No detail of forage, water temp, clarity or structure/cover. Just hey I can't catch fish so what do I do. I never respond.

Crappie crankbaits?
Just did that yesterday with a buddy and we did well. Funny that you brought up flicker shads.
-
How did you do this year?
My year has been pretty lackluster if I'm being honest. Last year I managed 3-6s a 7 and a handful of 5s. This year my best fish is maybe 4.5...only had 2-3 that even went 4. Also the past couple years I've caught quite a few smallmouth out of my local including a few nice ones..haven't even seen one this year. October and Early November usually produces some big fish for me so I'm hoping that holds true this year.

1/4 oz. Lipless Crank in the Fall
I throw the 1\4oz red eye alot in fall. Mainly because fish are shallow here chasing shad.

Where have all the giant bass gone?
Sounds like the perch around here. Fish the Iowa lakes where the perch feed mainly on minnows, bugs and flats(baby sunfish and crappies) the perch just don't get that big. Head over into south Dakota where a big part of the diet is freshwater shrimp and the perch are huge. Like you said almost like a different species.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Looks yummy. I've got a bowl of crappie fillets in the fridge waiting to get fried up.

Where have all the giant bass gone?
Ha right. I'm in the same boat as you. I haven't even caught a 5 plus this year so I'm wondering where the multiple 6s and the 7 I caught last year went. Meanwhile these guys are talking about bass 7lbs bigger than my states record.

What hook cutter do you like?
These are what I use as well. Saw @A-Jay post a pic of them before so I bought a set. Already had to use them to cut a hook off a red eye shad that was in my right forearm. Even using my left hand which is my weak hand it cut the hook with extreme ease.

Buzzbait vs WPlopper
I haven't thrown a whopper plopper a ton but have given it a fair shake and I'm not super impressed. A buzz bait however is my favorite top water next to a popper. I've caught hundreds of bass on a buzzbait. I would like to know how you list so many buzzbaits. I've wore them out from catching fish but don't think ive ever lost one.
