The Found Lures Thread
Was out today and the fishing sucked but I spotted a crank bait floating and thought well maybe this is all right. Turned out to be a cheap bait with garbage hardware..not sure how to feel about it.

Your top 3 Fall baits?
Spinner bait Weightless fluke Finesse jig
-
Pro worms shaken paddle tail worm
Mostly just a light Texas rig. Maybe as a jigworm on a Ned head.
-
Lure of choice up North?
Was gonna say a swim jig should be perfect.

Rods
I'm with everybody else on this deal. Dobyns Fury or sierra, St Croix mojo, falcon lowrider or bucoo SR.

Pro worms shaken paddle tail worm
Doubtful...im not a dropshot guy. I know that's blasphemous to say here...but I'm not into it.

Pro worms shaken paddle tail worm
So lately I've really turned my focus to finesse. Been throwing the Ned rig every time out and I just ordered a bunch of roboworms to throw on a light T rig. Then I came across these pro worm paddle tails and I'm intrigued. Anybody use these?

Confidence Bait

Roboworms: unique/niche/overlooked colors
So I'm just getting into the 4.5in roboworms pretty seriously and I'm looking for some suggestions. I always see Aarons magic, morning dawn, margarita mutilated or MM3 mentioned and to a lesser extent folkstad special, oxblood, peoples worm and orange crusher. I'm asking if there's any other colors you lean on or really like? Something out of the ordinary?

9-11-2001 - Where were you?
I was 18 and had just graduated. I was working overnights and living with my folks . My mom called and woke me up...she said you need to turn the news on they are bombing us.

Aaron Martens update....
Pulling for him too. He's has always been one of my favorites...an incredible angler and always funny and kinda goofy (in the best way). Watching him drop shot on the Mississippi and Arkansas rivers and almost pulling off the win was awe inspiring to me. First time I understood that finesse fishing isn't only for clear water. On top of being one of the best ever he has always seemed like a humble genuine guy. Hoping for the best.

Is it common for spinnerbaits to get bent up easily?
Gotta pay to play. Like mentioned above every brand will eventually give up the ghost. That picture @Bluebasser86 showed has been my experience with war eagles. The baits are fantastic but I often questioned durability..so I posted about last year. He kindly posted reminding me that all brands not just war eagle will fail. Prior to that statement I hadn't had another brand fail in years. But he put some kind of gypsy curse on me because the next day I was throwing a booyah around, hooked a 5+, she jumped once and I came back with just blades.

light hair jigs?
I feel like hair jigs are made for clear water. But they also seem to excel in cold temps when fish are less active. I'm not saying they won't work but to me there are far more efficient baits for schooling bass especially if they are aggressive.

GIN clear
Exactly. This place is for info and fun..this isn't my job so I'm not always at the top of my spelling or punctuation game. We don't need the grammar police cruising around.

favorite spinnerbaits for late summer/early fall
Oh man spinnerbaits are my jams. I throw all kinds of stuff..war eagles, sieberts, booyahs, strike king, some I've assembled myself. My favorites the past few years are the Nichols pulsator metal flake double willows. I also caught several really nice fish last fall on a homemade bait @scaleface sent me.

Oh yeah the old secret keep a lid on it bait or technique. That's how it was around here for me with a mojo rig. Kept it under my hat for several years as that was about all I could consistently get bit on in the dog days of summer. Then one July or August day a buddy walked up on me while fighting a nice largemouth...asks what the heck rig is that? For some reason nobody throws it even now..they just complain about getting skunked in the summer.

August was really good
August was really good? I respectfully disagree

Getting ready for winter. Need some crankbaits.
Well if your talking about winter crankbaits a few come to mind. Size 5 and 7 Rapala shad raps are an absolute must. I've also been impressed with the Berkley frittside.

Round Reels
Only for catfishing. There is nothing wrong with them tho...first 10 years of my bass journey I had a spinning combo and an ugly stick with a Garcia 5500. Caught alot of fish.

What are you throwing right now?
Welcome back
