  1. Ah I understand, yeah they have been out of stock sense black friday.
  2. That is a very unique bass, dark color and big tail.
  3. I'm sure you will have lots of fun!
  4. Looks great, no reason why it shouldn't work, rods are the only thing the usdm market is missing.
  5. It means everything, lighter spools cast lures farther than heavier spools, heavier spools are more durable. 17-20 grams is average for most mag track style breaking systems, 19-22 grams is average for centrifugal, 12-16 is really good for a low profile reel, one cdm reel I got for 20$ on sale has a 14 gram centrifugal breaking system spool and is amazing. The lews will cast farther if you don't fill up the spool that much, but it will screw with your retrieve rate/gear ratio, both will handle a 1/4-1/8th oz jerks fine, however which reel has better bearings, nmb is good and is usually lews, shimanos are also good, nmb bearings can come thick with grease at times depending on where the reel was made This ^^^^ I love bfs but really only use it for the high gear ratio and accuracy spinning is primarily dominant, especially If you are hucking a jerk in open water or are on a middle class budget and don't want to pay 20-30 for a spool.
  6. Perhaps, I was thinking more along the lines of a narwhal horns
  7. Blessed to live in the southwest, 80 and sunny
  8. Been using the spro phat fly and like them, any reason you don't want them?
  9. Good line it is if sunline is pricey for you
  10. The worst part about it is I haven't quoted him out of context who's jude? I always enter a forum thread with this mindset ^^^ although I will hold people's feet to the fire though when they try to take scilent jabs at a decent portion of the community, if you don't they just keep on doing it and slink back into the abyss of the internet. I try my best to keep the conversation going even if it gets ugly as it has above because my end goal is to solve the disagreement and become friends even if it feels uncomfortable or takes a while.
  11. I've been really dissapointed in Berkleys line products, I just use zrbco omniflex at this point, it has a thicker diameter but for 2 bucks for 700 yards it's really good and knots nicely, Berkley mono has also had odd weak spots throughout the line. If it's just a memory thing I soak them in water and it removes all memory for spinning, on casting I stretch it out and tie it to a tree if I have not used it in a few months.
  12. I have mentioned I have used bfs before and enjoy it we are on the same team and fish the same fisheries, diversity of thought is not only good, but healthy and is the only way we learn, Im sorry you dont like me or my opinions, but I will always cherish you and your opinions
  13. I have, its not a terrible method if you have grass and its a gusty day and you need to get it down, gusty days are fishy days anyways, although in those conditions I try to get away with a jerkbait first because they have sticky trebles and trebles usually have a better hookup than trigs, but if grass is to thick or they dont like the profile yes I do enjoy this method.
  14. short 5'6 or 5'0, I use a shakesphere featherlight and its fine, I go cheap because you will be banging it through thick brush and cover and there is no point in buying a nice rod if you are going to trash the thing. anything more than 50$ is overkill because you will break it fishing in skinny overgrown creeks. and Basspros ultralights have quality issues, but I wont go into that Good solid rod for the price, The blank is fair and it comes with SIC guildes so you wont burn through the eyes with thinner diameter lines used for creek species. I own one and the blanks run slightly heavier than most UL but its not by much and it takes a hell of a beating, thing has some battle scars
  15. Huh, maybe there is a doyo factory in China because my bmax smax and three presidentials have a made in China sticker. Maybe their higher end equipment is made it Korea. I tried buying some doyo lieger reels straight from the factory but they are like ghosts
  16. Been playing around with cdm reels lately in the 50$ price range, quality blows some 150$ reels out of the water, I don't like to support China but you don't really have any options nowdays so I'd rather buy straight from China than through lews/abu and their upcharge price and cheaper products
  17. I've been using the trashmaster jig, it's a grass jig and I'm still not sure what to think about them yet to be honest.
  18. Sorry you lost me at the price tag, even 100$ baits are up there for me.
  19. The thankyou belongs to you, you shoot straight to the point awnsers and are like a grandfather to me and many others I'm sure.
  20. It was not my intention to offend you, I think you may be taking my comments too personally Again I am not saying this as a personal attack towards you, but cost has everything to do with bfs having a stigma, not a skill gap That must be a very expensive spinning combo, but the difference is that the entry cost into bfs is much higher than spinning, not that there aren't any expensive spinning reels I would never assume so, and am sorry if you interpreted otherwise Absolutely, my point was that others that may make less money cannot afford the bfs entry cost P.S (maybe you didn't read, but I mentioned above I enjoy bfs, I mentioned that above) He asked for my opinion and I gave it, I'm not going to say it's all puppies and kittens because it isn't, again by no means am I trying to start a flame war or upset you, but I am simply awnsering questions Again I think you are missing the message. People are not using spinning because they cannot conteoll a baitcaster but they are using it because they cannot afford a bfs combo. Maybe you forgot but a large part of the fishing community has a budget and can only afford a 100$ combo, and many can only afford a Walmart combo. For a large portion of the fishing community this would be a high end expensive combo, I really hope you understand people may not make as much as you.
  21. Really? Size 18 is really small, about the size of a size 10 pqnfish hook. I fish gen clear water with some of the most pressured fish in the country and they don't mind to terribly much
  22. Live in socal as well and it gets insanely windy, although I think the reason bfs has the stigma is because of the price in comparison to spinning, not because of uneducated thumbs. Bfs is not affordable unless you go the cdm route which isn't terrible, or the kk route and I'll never buy another kk reel again because of their tick poor custom service, in a nutshell I paid 10 bucks for some replacement parts on a reel that broke, took 3 months for them to get here from China, then they sent the wrong parts. Messaged them and they didn't even want to give me a refund until I threatened to tell PayPal to charge back. I'd rather buy an aliexpress brand. Enough of my tangent anyways.
