Good glasses for small heads
It will run you like 80$, but go to a Costco and pick out a pair of glasses frames, say you don't have perscription but want just the frame with the polycarbonate lens polarized (and tell them what color you want) , try the hundreds of frames on and have them tighten or loosen it for you. Glasses come with case and microfiber cloth. P.S (if you ever scratch the lens you can just take it back and have them replace the polycarbonate lens for like $30)

JDM vs USDM reel gearing
Yes I have and it was a fiasco, the little plastic gear on the levelwind chipped. Tooth, payed 20$ and was shipped the wrong piece number, so just ended up dealing with the "rough" retrieve. I have not had a great experience with ordering jdm parts.

JDM vs USDM reel gearing
That makes sense, Im surprised its dropping, expecially because our U.S dollar is not doing so hot as well, I have been eyeballing some diawa jdm spinning rods, i may fool around in the cart and see if a discount materializes.

JDM vs USDM reel gearing
Poor phrasing on my end, more of a hassle and longer shipping times plus the heightened chance of having to buy through a third party Have personally not seen that yet, not saying good deals don't exist but have not seen that materialize in all of my jdm purchases, if anything they may be roughly the same price or a little higher with shipping included, but never less

JDM vs USDM reel gearing
The reason behind regional global marketing is because different cultures buy different equipment or find certain products more desirable. But in a nutshell buying jdm reels is not ideal unless you really really are in love with it for two reasons 1. Shipping price upcharge 2. Lack of replacement parts if something breaks

Yeah, it's going to be a tough I looked at a small percentage of the roster and it's looking like steep comp.

Small rant - trout comes in tomorrow (PA)
This for me mostly^^^^^^, I must say though over in Japan they pay to fish stocked ponds and do it as a sport, kind of like who can catch and release the most. For me stocked trout fishing was an excellent way to learn how to set the hook and learn what a bite feels like. Helped me get into bass fishing alot easier with less frustration.

Loss of Pflueger BCs?
To be completely honest they are nothing special for the price imo, I do like them and fish with their products but hindsight 2020 I'd just buy a cdm reel over them if i wanted to same quality.

Swimbait Line Help
1. Blood knot is known the have problems being used as a braid to mono or floro knot. It's used more as a mono to mono or mono to floro. Fg knot, uni2uni, and alberto are better options imo, I use alberto but whatever is easiest 4 u to remember. 2. Line type I've been using 20lb subline natural mono, I have been satisfied with it, diameter is .015

Forgotten or Underrated techniques and lures
Spoons fished like crankbaits or spinnerbaits, or like jigs on bottom.
-
Green pumpkin vs watermelon
I'm partiallycolorblind and both styles of color look exactly the same, shade for shade, and I'd say bass don't notice a huge difference either.

DC or non DC
of corse its unlikley to break, because its only a little computer chip, but my point was the more advanced and "technological" things become, the more likley they are to break, just look at old vs new cars, old vs new sewing machines, and old vs new reels. Old drum reels and mitchels are like going to last a lifetime because there are so few things that can go wrong.
-
DC or non DC
Its one more thing to break.

BFS Casting Reel - Your Line Choice
Awesome info, I have been panfishing as well the past few outings, I find panfishing is best in the bass spawn and they get super aggressive as they don't have to worry about getting munched by bass as much that time of year, daredevls have been my lure of choice, man I love spoons so much, they are becoming my favorite search bait even over all the advanced cranks and chatters... something fun about the colors of feel of hucking them

BFS Casting Reel - Your Line Choice
Thankyou so much for this information!!! Will look at these options for sure!!! Beautiful reels, something romantic about old abu style reels, will upgrade mine with these reccomendations.

BFS Casting Reel - Your Line Choice
To give a more "accurate" response, what do you exactly mean by "handle well". Was just curious if that means backlashing in the beginning, middle, or end of the cast. My zephyr is fussy in general and magnets are weaker than most other low profile bfs reels. Lighter lures usually prefer MORE magnets and heavier ones require less with more tension. Not super into bfs fishing as you are but is that old abu spool made by amo? How's the quality If so of the aftermarket spool. I have a beautiful 5600 and was thinking about getting their 10 gram one for 3/16th-3/8 standard bass lures.

Story time
I thought yall would have got a kick out of this, bed fishing has begun and I had caught many many bass these last few weeks but grew bored of the lack of challenge and decided to just huck a swimbait at a pond. As I'm throwing my s waver 168 It gets snagged on submerged bullrush Wretchedly annoyed i spent 10 minutes working all angles but no luck finally I decided that I am not loosing a 30$ lure with upgraded high end hardware and a hook magnet system Idecide to go "wade out" for it. Took all my phone and stuff off and start walking out, there is about two feet of schmuck and decomposed snot on the bottom, feeling Grose and unsettling. I quickly underestimated how deep this pond is as I drop from knee deep to chest deep, and up to my neck. Eventually I just fully commit and use my rod as a staff to guide me and the line as I go underwater. I pull the lure out of the submerged bullrush and start swimming back to shore. My feet are covered in a sutty black slime and am praying to not have obtained any fun antibiotic resistant bacteria from that fiasco. Oh did I mention it was a cold front and water temp was 62. But it's all part of the swimbait game right?

Awesome! Am excited to use them, while I love TW, they don't have a huge selection for species other than bass.
