Starting a garden
Yes it is most likley fine, there is no plant list of actual weeds, but plants with weedy characteristics, usually annuals that grow well in disturbed compacted soil. Phytotoxcicity can be a problem in compost, not enough research is done on that topic to give scientific advice, and usually is only seen slow plant growth down slightly in the long run. Weeds are actually good for the environment in the long run despite what people say.

That's good, yeah raised beds can be expensive if you go that route, especially with wood pricing being what it is. but they are easier on people's backs and are more space conservative.

what sprays are you buying? How much are you spending? Crop interplanting on small scale backyard gardens with 30 minute inspections a day pretty much takes pest damage out of the equation. Crop rotating and composting builds the soil slowly without having to import fertilizers. I rarely spend more than 50$ a year.

Starting a garden
Absolutely, all the nurserys and most brick and mortar stores only carry popular hybrid and heirloom varieties, when it comes to buying spesific rootstock or cutting and even live trees, this can be a particularly difficult task... if you search online you will most likley be able to find the cultivar you want seed wise, even on ebay or etsy for a little more. Living in California there are a few nonprofits and state funded programs that are catching on to this problem and have started selling/giving many varieties of rootstock that are lesser known to keep these older heirlooms alive and in the community, as well as cut down on overall pests, (hlb virus) Maybe your state has started to fund programs like this. (Spesificially to protect heirloom viticulture, but also for olives and citrus)

Plant species and spesific cultivars based abiotic and biotic situations. Don't Plant what other people reccomend because they do not know your ecological climate. To dumb this college agricultural statement down, Plant species/cultivar that tolerate every aspect of the environment. Some of these aspects include humidity, wind, temperature, soil type, salinity, pest resistance, insect populations, sunlight availability, etc etc etc. I'm not saying you cannot grow a fig tree in a swamp, or rice in a desert, but you will spent 6+ hours a day tending to it so it doesn't die compared to 10 minutes a day growing an appropriate cultivar. If you do it properly there is a major price advantage, but people buy things they don't need

Major Pfleuger Pres XT reel failure at worst possible time
Yeah, I have become dissapointed with their products, my xt president is starting to crap out on me too and I fish it very lightly for trout maybe 6-7 times a year, now there is a clicking sound when the spool is at its highest part of oscillation. Will be sticking to shimano or diawa for quality now, and am more happy with my aliexpress reels than pure fishing reels for the price and quality.

Is there a material or knot that breaks off your leader at the bait rather than at the braid when you get snagged?
To be blunt and frank, Don't use braid if you don't want to retie. All these people say that their knot is the best and never fails but none of them would bet their life on it I'm sure because it's human to err.. even the pros occasionally snap their leaders, even when bringing in smaller fish and not being snagged. (Also I would not sacrifice knot strength for saving a leader.)

Do It All Baitcaster - What Line?
Because there will be a new style of line that will most likley replace it under development.

Do It All Baitcaster - What Line?
Won't regurgitate the same info that's avaliable online, braid will be all but gone in a few years except for heavy cover fishing obviously, new technology trial line I tried makes braid look like a fool, will have a msrp quite a bit cheaper than floro, all I'm allowed to say is it's going to be revolutionary to the fishing industry. Remember to quote this in 10 years, "braid is all but dead"

revros vs legalis vs revros vs regal vs exceller vs laguna
Okay I'm sure if I spent a few hours I could get down to the bottom line but was hoping some of you guys could help me answer the question, the differences between the revros vs legalis vs revros vs regal vs exceller vs laguna. Seems really silly for diawa to have this many options in the 40-70 dollar range, but am interested in buying one. I am looking for one of these reels to have a line capacity similar to a size 30 president, being a taller and shallower spool, and a decent frame. I am also looking for a pseudo one piece bail design/1 piece bail design. (P.S, yes I'm aware the differences are minimal, but if one reel matched my desires above, which would it be) If you are also wondering why all this matters, it is to replace an older spinning reel that is not manufactured anymore thats spool design prevented ALL line coiling issues when used with proper line size. (the thing people confuse for line twist when a bunch of line balls up between your reel and the rod tip during a cast.)

What's your favorite reel?
I like my pflugers lews and abus, but no debate nothing stock compares to stock diawas and shimanos performance wise. Durability and aesthetics are a different story. Penn conventional reels are built like tanks.

San Francisco Bay Area weather is getting annoying.
Seems like alot of our resavoirs are only a shadow of their former glory, who knows maybe the rain man will come around again ?

What would you say is the best rod length/power for throwing a 2.75” soft paddle tail swim on an 1/8 oz jig in a medium sized river from a kayak?
Whatever you got works, I don't think a few inches here or there makes a huge deal with any techniques, you will want to match your rod weight with gauge of hook.

BFS Lures?
Yes it's an absolute blast, sure we may backlash every once in a while but there is something satisfying about catching bluegill trout and bass on baitcasting. I think it Excells best for bass in shallow, calm, clear water or spooky shallow bass situations, spinning struggles loud splashes on flipping and pitching even on light trick worms or Weightless ned baits. Now is probably the best time to buy, with the exchange rate for jdm reels being screwy, I've not seen it like this for a while

BFS Lures?
, just keep in mind if you are doing it for heavier baits for trout, that will work fine but even the best custom spool and bearing bfs reels usually cap around 1 gram, and stock budget reels (200$ and lower) with 7-9 gram spool caps out at 2-2.5 gram depending on reel, spinning reels are much more versatile (and way more practical for sub 1 gram lures) if you are looking at the situation from a utilitarian standpoint no debate. (If it's mostly for bass or you dont mind using heavier lures (1/16th+) then ignore it and it could be worth pulling the trigger. (Or if you just want to have fun, but this is the utilitarian idea on usefulness and practical useage.

Tips on how to not lose things in the lake
I tie a string to a small hook hanger I glued to the back of my phone case when on a small yak, longterm to not loose stuff on a yak take maximum of two rods and a small backpack of stuff. I absolutely cringe seeing guys with 4+ rods and have seen a few tip over even in calm conditions loosing half+ their equiptment. Bank fishing I only take one, if a new lake two maybe, kind of cracks me up seeing guys huffing 4+ rods on the bank ad well, then when they fish they put their rods down to cast and then when they move pick them all up again.

What Did You Buy In Memorial Day Sale 2022?
Nothing, 15% just did not seem like enough for me to cop out the old wallet, only thing I really need is some new nylon line and fly tying thread, I'd rather just buy in person and spend 8$ than place a 50$ order for free shipping.

New Pfluger president 25 wont click on drag release...
There will be a gear on the spool shaft, make sure that gear contacting the "Cam" that the spring is attached to, that's what makes the clicking sound. P.S, do not soak your spool in water, it will damage the oil felt drag washers inside of the spool, especially because felt drags have oil on them and it will get rinsed out, causing cause choppy slipping drag and will burn the drag washers out much faster. Instead soak the line itself in water.
