  1. Because plastics that fall apart easily like a roboworm or Yamamoto style brand plastisols have alot more free movement and natural action. Stiff plastics can be a dead action. Elaztech style baits are a entire different animal
  2. was going to get some nikko lures but didgitaka doesnt carry them. I got some jackall good meals, they have little rockfish lures, same rockfish bass we have out here on west coast, also ajing lures, for the mackerel we have. Placed an order, If i am pleased with it, I will order another rod from them because the price is so good+ no tax
  3. thats what I was thinking lol, I havent seen a fly like that so thought id give it a try
  4. what size hook you like to tie on, what strength? do some SW flyfishing for bonefish in our bays, they are strong fish and typical hooks I use can get bent out because its hard to perfectly palm a click and paul drag on light line and hooks against bonefish and big SW fish.
  5. Neat, bet thos would work out here in the west coast SW too.
  6. Im colorblind but what is the plug at the top of the screen with single hooks with thread wrapped around, is that a topwater?
  7. ive tried flies, only caught a few, small japanese 22-30 size hooks seem to work best for me.
  8. understood, very good info. I guess maybe I should not use mono then on the light spools? I picked up the krestel elite and was not sure if i should put mono on the spool or not. dang thats a bummer, maybe I should stop using mono...
  9. Despite all the trash talking I do about bfs, I do own some, and fish them often. I normally fish mono but was planning on switching to a thin superline/coated slick braid. Will these lines warp the spool compared to mono/floro? The spool I've got is a 5gram with bearing
  10. I think it's fine, maybe spool shaft or spool can deform if you really put pressure on it, but at that point most people just crank the drag down
  11. You can catch them on hook and line and it's quite fun, size 22 hook, a small piece of wax paper, and a specialized bamboo rod I made with line running through the body out the tip, no reel. Will also catch minnows
  12. 15+ not for strength reasons but assadine bass fishing culture puts stupid heavy gauge hooks on baits, specifically baits that aren't even in heavy cover (chatterbait) so you have to go heavy mono or a low stretch lines.
  13. I just ordered it, when it arrives I will let you know how I like it, but schematics show it's identical to the usdm version but with a shallow spool design.
  14. maybe ill pick up the vanford as well, im kind of like a scruge with money, but it seems to just be loosing value by the week so im starting to just spend more of it on stuff I want.
  15. I see very interesting, perhaps that suggests bass after the spawn on beds have pretty blotchy black markings, and in summer not as much?
  16. I know everyone is saying the exchange rate has been good, but this week it's off the charts excellent highest in 20 years, I you are going to buy I would buy now because Friday Jerome Powell will give a hawkish speech and raise interest rates most likley, dropping it down from 140.50 to 133 and lower most likley. Usually interest rates boost the U.S dollar, but it's I think it's going to be the opposite because fears of recession by investors. Right now it's a 37% discount when I ordered my tatula spinning reel, got it for 135, last week was 142, it's jumped that much, but will likley be a temporary spike. Yes don't use PayPal, they use a unfavorable exchange rate, saved 20$ just using credit card, today you will say 25$ on a 200$ purchase
  17. Just ordered, went with didgitaka, I waited for the exchange rate to be perfect, got it for 135 lol. I decided to go with the tatula based on lightness. Also got plenty of Japanese toys that look fun, and for dirt cheap.
  18. Both are excellent reels, was just curious which I should get, light light line 3lb hair jigs and such, light action rod. Let me know!
  19. Pretty true, even a cheapie black max I can comfortably and accuratley throw pitch and skip weightless trick worms and lizards, now spinning can throw it farther, and behaves much better in wind. Bfs isn't even required for semi light bass lures, the only lures I can think benefit from bfs or spinning are tiny D.S worms weightless, hair jigs and whenever you want more distance, comfort in skipping, dealing with light to heavy wind (when it's not slick calm) etc etc.
  20. My first decent spinning reel was a quantum, it never broke but the tolerances got so loose it was unbearable to fish with, line getting stuck between the line roller and the frame. The graphite was less ridged than rubber, they discontinued it and parts for it , so I can't even repair it for old time sakes, I had a funeral for it and wrote some obituaries on the spool... it sits on my shelf "You are not a quantum reel that failed" I said, "quantum failed you"
  21. bad spool of line or bad reel design of spool? two different things
  22. Plenty of information on the forums about this subject, justdon't skimp on line, be it PE or nylon
  23. I have fished both, cxx is more abrasion resistant, c21 is less abrasion resistant but is thinner and behaves betteron spool. Maxima and sunline I really like, diameters are different, I get 8lb sunline, 6lb maxima
