Which line should I start my son out with his new baitcaster? braid vs mono?
Nylon. Still use it 95% of the time just because it's so forgiving, plus it's more versatile. Best thing I did when learning to cast is stick with mono, BG or omniflex.

Bass fly unique patterns requested.
Am restocking on bass fly tying supplies and tie many of the typical bass minnow imitators, was wondering if anyone had any unique pattern reccomendations, perhaps the jointed ones look interesting.

Carolina Rigs
Agreed. I tried fishing it a little but it just seems silly because the bait is just dragging along the bottom anyways just like a jig or trig and you can't feel the bite as well. If I want a similar rig I really like a splitshot rig, but with cylinder weights or bullet weights for grass.... me and my father do well on it.

Extra plastic baits
Keep them, when I first started I picked up ribbon tailed worms in black and never fished them when I learned more about fishing clear water socal lakes. Then one day last year I pull out the 6 year old bag in the summer for night fishing.

Zodias 7ft L ,Posion Adrena 6'11 UL, Edge 711DSR Spinning Rods- Which one?
Yes glad you caught that, from the research i have done, generally but not always, UL rods in bass rod lineups are generally stiffer. Best bet might be to buy a dedicated UL rod. I had a diawa arid x UL and it was stiff, more like a light or maybe a medium light. Jdm Shimano has more UL items, but be warned their FW UL rods are much more soft and parabolic, and their SW ones are super stiff, no inbetween.

Your License(s) Costs
Too much out here in CA, 60$ for bare bones 1 rod FW only, +5$ for SW, 20$ for a salmon card, 15$ for an extra rod, lobster is an extra 20$ and then they gift the most asinine rules in existence to follow that make absolutely 0 sense. Not targeting the officers most of them are great people that love the outdoors, but I always ask them a rhetorical question humorously that they can't answer because no human can memorize all the rules without a team of Harvard lawyers. Some common asinine rules none of the officers remember, and rightfully so... 1. How many many lures can you have on one rod, and how many hooks can each lure have, what type of hook, and how can they be attached to the lure. 2. What parts of water is a Carolina rig illegal 3. The definition of a fly is a circular definition and written by a 1st grader, "A fly is a type of lure, usually made with thread and materials" So by that asinine definition, does that mean I can use a senko with a loop of thread and a feather tied on it. Even if it didn't have thread or a feather, I could still fish it because it says usually... Absolutely, you understand as well I'll stop the tangent, but you get the point...

You get to retire/move to your Bass fishing dream lake/river.......what lake/river are you picking?
Some state and lake with an older respectful population and a cheerful traditional/orthidox culture, being a young mid 20's adult, that's really my group of people, i have no interest in the delinquencies of my Generation. In a nutshell, anywhere other than urban life, here in SD California, I like the idea of Montana or the Dakotas... Trout Trout Trout!

Bass lures for trout
Keitech 2 inch, I prefer jackal tidebeat 1.5" it's jdm. In my experience, I have found 1-2 inch baits work best. Small crappie jigs also work really well, I've switched from in line spinners to minnows in fast streams as they resist line twist well, don't have as much luck with them in stillwater lakes. My go to are tiny trout magnet bodies. Easy for trout to swallow, Nikko floating worms I also like, and Berkley mice tails with tiny 8-10 size mosquito light. With the floating baits I use splitshot rig. Natural wild trout like natural tones Stocked trout are stupid and dog fed fish and will fishing brightest colors works great so they can find it well like white and yellow. Small blade baits are also good.

Beginner BFS setup for panfish...
I have never tried but TSU dark wold ultra might be what you want for that light of lures, I'll DM you budgetrod options if you like but it's a lot to write up here. Kastking also launched a cheap 70$ bfs reel with a krestel spool, I own the krestel elite and performs well, only difference is magnesium frame.

Winter Gloves???
Cut the fingers off of some discounted pair, doesn't get too cold where I am, thin neoprene works just fine for me. These also work great just make sure they are latex free because if you wear latex gloves for long periods of time you have a gold chance to obtain allergy to it.

How many rods?
On the bank just one, usually spinning rod because of flexibility and have a casting rod in car for when I need it for some parts of the lake. I also just as much use one casting reel sometimes (a old bmax3) and have 3 spools for it, one 6lb nylon bfs, one 65lb braid, and one 12lb nylon. I plan on. Having a similar setup with my tatula soon as bulldog showed me a cheap spool for my tatula ct100 In a boat, generally 2-3, but I have different spools of line for my casting reels so often times only two, plus when family and friends are in a boat, it can get a little crowded fast and next thing you know rods are stepped on All three spools take very little time to take out.
