  1. Beautiful fish...Love the colors!!! :o
  2. Hawgin, you couldn't have said it any better. I was in the same boat you guys were in 2 years ago. I finally made myself fish a jig and nothing but a jig. After about 6 hours of really hard fishing, I finally got a hit. It wasn't the biggest fish (15"), but it was enough to gain some confidence. Later that day I had boated 5 more fish in the sub 20" range but all were respectable fish. ;D The jig for me has went from a no confidence bait to my highest confidence bait. I always...always catch bigger bass as a whole on a jig. Just give it a try and you will see. BTW, your gonna get em scratched, hooked, caught in trees, wrapped around brush, lost, snagged, and flying back at your 100 MPH if you are fishing them right. ;D ;D ;D Just buy more than you think you need!!! Blaine,
  3. 73% Dixie, I thought I would be lower than that. : The Aunt question I had to think about for a minute. ;D
  4. Sorry to hear this, my thoughts and prayers will be with your family. Same thing just happend to one of my co-workers. He also found his early and is on a speedy road to recovery. I hope all is well after Monday.
  5. Beautiful rod!! I like the bling factor. ;D That orange metallic thread looks copper from the pictures. I would be proud to own it. Blaine,
  6. Redline, I always enjoy reading your posts. I don't think anyone on here looks at what you say is bragging. Just like justfishin said, you earned it man. Keep us informed of any expensive or non expensive toys you get in the future. : By the way, you got a heck of a deal on that Ito reel. ;D I had it saved in my Ebay favorite auctions. I was watching it just to see what it went for. I had to give $300.00 for mine. Blaine,

It's all this wealth of information on this site. Like my dad used to say, "Good things come to those who wait."
  11. I use a weighted rattle that goes around the shaft of the hook when T-rigging tubes. It stays in place and works great. 8-)
  12. Another nice one there Dan....Seems like you got ya a little honey hole there!!! I'm still fighting 38-40 degree water temps here in West Virginia. :'(
  13. Nice to have you on board.WELCOME ;D
  14. You're about right in the ballpark, I also have a 2003 Tracker Pro 185 but mine has the 90 HP Merc. I was getting 37 - 40 MPH (choppy vs. flat water) with 2 people and gear until I put a stainless prop on last year. Now I can get about 40 - 43 MPH (choppy vs. flat water) with 2 people and gear @ 5300-5500 RPM. I measured both times with GPS. My speedometer says that I top out at 49 - 50 MPH on flat water @ 5500 RPM. This will show you how much they can be off. :-/ I trust the GPS more.
  15. WELCOME ABOARD!! Good bunch of people here and a wealth of information.

  19. They do for me in only one aspect, confidence. If my mental game is on I feel like the battle is half over. Do they catch fish better, probably not, but don't tell my brain that. ;D ;D LOL!!!

Cavitron and Terminator make a good buzz bait, they are a little expensive though. Strike King is not so expensive and have caught tons of fish for me, they are also easy to find.

  22. Welcome Aboard!! Good people here and lots of great information. Blaine,
  23. This may be my imagination but, have you ever noticed when largemouth start getting around that eight pound and above mark they get that distinct eye bulge? It's almost like their eye is too big for their body. Does anyone know what causes this? The reason I bring this up, last summer my brother hooked the largest bass I have ever witnessed in person, without a doubt this was a double digit fish. When he got it to the boat I could not help from noticing this fish's eye was as big as a quarter, and it had that eye bulge. The fish ended up getting off seconds later due to drag failure on the reel. :'( (At least that's what we were blaming it on when we were wiping tears from our eyes. ;D)
  24. Nice fish Dan. I always enjoy your posts, ;D that fish looks to be in the 8-9 pound range. 8-)
