I don't think you need to worry about that reel holding up with braid on it. The handle can be upgraded with a TD-Z handle from Daiwa. ($39.95) Your line guide is coated, no worries there. 8-)

Daiwa sells everything you need. You just need to go to your parts list (schematic) that came with the reels and you can order direct from them. When you order, make sure you get all you need because the shipping is pretty hefty. If you need bearing upgrades Boca Bearings, VXB Bearings, TG Rocket bearings, and ZPI Bearings. Drag upgrades I would suggest Smoothies or Carbontex. Just do a search for each on Google.

This is the very reason I like college ball so much. On any given day, you just never know.

You might want to see about getting a patent on that. I believe that may have some potential. Good job on the idea. 8-)

You want something like a pistol grip, or a straight handle that has been modified to a shorter length? If you want a pistol grip I can help you out. I have a rod that I had a Lew's speed spool on that I only used about 3-5 times. It is still brand new and has been setting on my rod rack for two years collecting dust. BPS Crankin Stick 6'6" Med action. Yours if you want it. The Lew's is not for sale though. ;D

The state guys get on to you about fishing around the docks. I guess they had problems with people casting like idiots and hooking people's pontoon boat roofs and ripping them with the hooks on the lures. I just fish it at night around two in the morning in the summer months. Some of the biggest fish this year for me were caught on boat docks. I would love to take you up on that offer. I have always wanted to fish SML. Let's do it sometime!!
