  1. Cadillac Escalade=Overpriced Chevy Tahoe. ;D
  2. Isn't that him with the keys to the Caddy? MVP Yes, I said for 1 night he was dynamic. But one MVP performance does not make up for three years of being a sub-par QB. Look at Doug Williams, he destroyed Denver in Super Bowl XXII, and was MVP but for most of his career he was subpar.
  3. I already posted on my favorite shows, but I have been watching alot of Larry Dahlberg's Show. I like this show for one reason, actually two, he fishes for exotic species. Even though you know he fishes with, and is sponsored by Shimano; he is not contantly talking about Shimano or suffix line or is other sponsors. He lets the action and the adeventure tell the story. Too many of these old guys like Bill Dance, Shaw Grigsby, and Roland Maarin are 30 minute infomercials for the sponors. I mean I fish with mainly Shimano reels, hwoever if Quantum or someelse gave me free top of the line stuff and loads of cash I would give their praises just the same. You never see Shaw or Bill fishing with that cheap made junk they sell at Dicks or BPS. TS
  4. Dude, Don't jump ship right yet. Remember Brett Farve did not make it there. He threw an interception to loose the NFC championship. I will still be rooting for Wahington and Carolina even thought they stink worse than hog farm. TS
  5. I hate to say it but that showed little class. TS
  6. I still think Eli Manning is overated, but for one night he was dynamic. My congrats to New york and their fans. That was the worst defense in the last two minutes that I have ever seen. You never grab a player by the jersey in an effort tackle him, you hit him hard. New England choked. TS
  7. I am partial to Shimano. The Compre is a great rod for $89.99 for the 6'6' and $99.99 for the 7ft model. The next step up for around $130 is the Shimano Crucial. Both are nice rods in that price range. Some of our more senior members are sure to have better or different recomendations. This is just what I am familiar with because Wilmingotn is basically a Shimano town. We have more Saltwater stuff than freshwater and around here Shimano and Penn are the kings. TS
  8. Welcome aboard. The first question that others are going to ask is how much do you want to spend? I have a Shimano Compre that is a excellent rod for $89-99, also the Shimano Claurs is a good rod for around $59, if you can find one of last years St. Croix Avids on sell, everyone on here seems to like those. I can't comment on it because I do not own one but it is a qulaity rod with a big following. TS

That is total bull, not to be smart or anything but do you work at Walmart do you know what their pay is. I work for Walmart as does my wife. I also know for a fact that they have several health plans to choose from. It just depends on what kind of deductable you want. It never seems to surprise me how much people complain about Wal-Mart, I mean they tell you what your salary is going to be before you start. And those who bad mouth them are always the first ones to run to Wal-Mart when they need to buy something. I appologize in advance if this offends anyone but this is my opinion. TS
  10. Gator BK, I beleive that the Penn spinning reels that I linked to sell for around $150 new, the Torgues are real pricey. I see alot of Penns on ebay. Another option that I just thought of, is a Daiwa Black Gold. They sell for aound $99 dollars brand new. Big T
  11. What about a Penn Senator Level Wide, Maybe 4/0 or 6/0. Just a suggestion. For alot more money you could try a Penn International Torque. It has level drag as well. I am not sure how they cast. But it might be worth a shot. For a spinning reel maybe a Penn 8500 or 9500. These reels hold a ton of line and you can find them on Ebay reasonably priced. Just another thought. Big T
  12. I understand, the funny thing about all bands is that they all sell out. If you ever listen to Nirvana's first album and then the next album that had Smell Like Teen Spirit you can definately tell a difference. These bands basically have to make an album that is going to make the label money, therefore they have to sell out. Evently they become so big that they can do what ever they want to though. For instance, Prince, he makes the kind of music he wants to because he is so successful that he can tell the record company to stick it. TS
  13. First pick Shimano Symtre 2500 - $79.99 Second Pick Shimano Sahara 2500- $59.99 These are the only two that I really have fished with alot. I am sure there are others that will serve you well. I have used both of these reels in the 4000 series for inshore saltwater. They took a beating and never failed.
  14. Megadeth was formed when Metallica threw Dave Mustaine out of the band prior to recording their first album Kill'em All. Kirk Hammitt replaced him. TS
  15. I chose morons, I do not necessarly have this problem at the lake but in the river, and the intercoastal water I can't stand the idiots that wake the crap out of you, or they slow down right at your boat and cause a bigger wake than if they would have just stayed on plane. And do not even get me started about the idiot tourists at the boat ramps around the beaches. They come down here with the biggest boats that the bank will finance and can't even load a canoe or a kayak. Anyway sorry for the minature rant. > TS
  16. I have never fished Falls Lake and I may be wrong but I do not think that there are any Smallies or Walleyes in that lake. I do not think that Walleys are native to NC. There may be a few in some of the mountain lakes in the Western NC lakes. I do think if memory serves me right that I read in the NC Sportsman magazine that there are Stripers there. You really need to call down there to find out if the boat ramps are even open. The Raleigh- Durham resevoirs are really low and hurting for water. The drought has been so bad thi year that we were catching saltwater fish in Wilmington around the Battleship across from Downtown. The salinity line had drifted that far north from a lak of rain to wash it back out in the ocean. Sorry for such a long post Just a thought. Hope this helps. TS
  17. Between my wife and I we probably have over 300-400 cds. We have everything from the Beastie Boys, Van Halen, and Kiss to Geoge Strait, Kenny Chesney and Reba. My wife mainly likes country, as well I do. However I really dig rock. I go through phases. Growing up it was all 80's hair bands. I still like that stuff but I tend to listen to more classic stuff now. The Rolling Stones, The Who, Kiss, etc. However next week you may find me listening to Jimmy Buffet or Reba, depends on my mood. TS
  18. Saltwater: First I would like to spend a week in the Keys catching Tarpon, Snook, and what ever esle would bite. Second I would like to spend a week in New England catching huge Blues and Stripers. These trips would be furnihed with all of Shimano's top of the line Stells reels and Calcutta series rods, only because the Cape Fear rod Company went out of business. Freshwater: I would like to go tackle some huge Bass in Florida with Shiners And I would like ot go to Panama fishing for huge Peacock Bass at my Uncle's new house on the Lake down there.
  19. My top five best are: 1. Flip Pallot's Fishing the Keys. 2. The Spanish Fly w/ Jose Wejebe 3. Addictive Fishing with Blair Wiggins.( Myonly gripe is he plugs W@M too much.) 4. The Hunt for Big Fish with Larry Dahlberg 5. Angling Edge My top five worst: 1. Roland Martin-infomercial for who ever the flavor of the month is. 2. Shaw Grigsby- The Quantum, Triton, Dick's Sporting Goods infomercial. 3. Fishing Unviersity- Too Boring. 4. Beat Charlie Moore-Anoying. 5. Bill Dance-Fishes what looks like strip mine ponds too much. Another honrable mention but is no loner on is Jerry McKinnis, this guy was cool
  20. Last summer they opened up a store in Fayetteville. Looked like they remodeled an exisiting building. However, when we got to the store we notice a huge 10 x 30 ft hole in the side of the building. Must have ran out of money or something. TS
  21. I agree. Larry Dalhberg has been chasing big fish for years. When I was King Mackeral fishing alot, it was very rare that my buudy and I lost a fish due to breaking off or spitting the hook, because were a team and knew what the other was doing as far as driving and fighingt a fish. Lost more to Sharks or Baracudas than anything TS
  22. I have the 7ft Mh, other than the ceramic coming out of the tip, which was probably my fault, it has bbeen a pretty good rod. The handle seems to be a little thick. If I would buy another but only if it were on sale. I think for $99, there are better rods. Oh by the way mine got used for redfishing in the lower Cape Fear river and the intercoastal waterway. It is going to strictly freshwater next summer. I am going to use my Shimano Clarus for redfish as soon as I replace my Symtre with a Spheros. TS
  23. That was an amazing catch. I guess the Suffix braid done its job. He was lucky to have caught that fish. Not because of possible line breakiage, but because he almost got spooled. I would be willing to bet he had 20-30 pound braid on that reel. Anyway still a great catch. Makes me want to out some 15-20 pound braid on my 4000 Symtre and go trolling along the beach next summer. We have King Mackeral that move right off the Beach in the late summer, but last summer seemed to be the year of the Sailfish. Had numerous ones caught 2-3 miles off the beach and few caught off piers. TS
  24. You know something, I have lived in North Carolina my whole life and have never been to outbanks, well I stayed at the Cape Lookout Lighthouse on a school field trip fo ra weekend. Weird, I mean I have been all the way south to Orlando,Fl and all the way north to Lake Ontario in New York but not the Outer Banks. I see a fishing trip in my future. ;D TS
  25. ;D No redneck I've ever known was a snob. . . perhaps overbearing and obnoxious, but never a snob. You have not seen the ones that went to my high school. They were a special breed. TS
