  1. Not a great day but not bad, either. Got on the water about 8:00. Started on top but no action. Tried a chatterbait and a jerkbait. Same result. After a while I switched over to a Texas rig. Caught 2 on a 5” black Senko and 1 on a Fat IKA in Fading Watermelon w/Black Flake. But the star of the show was an X-Zone 4.25” Adrenaline Craw in Summer Craw. I had two blow-ups on top as soon as it hit the water, and one bass was barely hooked, he threw the hook, I casted it back and he slammed it again. I gotta fish that bait more often! Topping things off was at the end of the trip, I looked up and saw this WP 110 dangling in some branches. Looks new! I like catching big bass like we all do. But I’ll say these 1.5-2.5 lb’ers really put up a fight. One started taking line. I haven’t heard my drag sing in a while!
  2. I’m hoping a bigger hook makes gut hooking less likely. Doesn’t happen often but I’d like to eliminate it if possible. It is a very simple hookset.
  3. Nice! I love customization when it serves a function.
  4. x2. Likely as my weight gets fouled a lot.
  5. I have one lol. Truth be told, I’m not a big lipless guy. I like lips.
  6. I have not used spinnerbaits or chatterbaits on my 705CB. Only squarebills, lipless cranks, etc. Yet you aren’t the first that’s posted they’ve used it for spinnerbaits. I’m fishing this Thursday (cloudy, low 67° high 81° thank God!). I think I’m going to tie one on and see how it fishes.
  7. I still have my 70’s vintage Daiwa Millionaire 3H. It’s now retired. And so is my Garcia Mitchell 300 from the 60’s. They were good in their day, but today's reels are so much better. The thing is…if I live long enough, can the same be said of my newer reels? Those old reels were built to last for sure.
  8. I could be wrong, but my Spidey Sense detects the machinations of the Bait Monkey.
  9. I don’t have one. No place for one on my small inflatable. You fish where you think the bass are at. Dropoffs, points, logs, standing timber, overhanging tree limbs, grass. I may not catch as many bass as those with fish finders, but I still catch ‘em.
  10. As worms go, no. As Senkos go, they’re big lol.
  11. Thanks. That’s good to know.
  12. If I try them, I think I’d likely just use them as a Texas rig. I bet they cast a country mile!
  13. I believe that, as even with only a 1” difference, I seem to have to change a 5” more often than a 4” on equal number of bites. That big worm probably rips in half easily.
  14. I believe the vast majority of us use 5” Senkos, even though they also come in 3”, 4”, 6” and 7” sizes. I have gotten bites on slow days with a 4” Senko when the 5” was dying on the hook. I’m intrigued by the 7” Senko but rarely see it mentioned. If you use a 7”, do you mainly use it on a Texas rig? Or have you also used it on a wacky or Neko rig? The BM is tapping my shoulder and whispering in my ear that I should appease him and just place an order, but wanted to see if anyone uses the 7” over a standard-sized plastic worm in that length.
  15. The Chik Fil-A cows stock ponds during the night so folks will eat more fish and less beef.
  16. I like that! I do NOT like a floppy brim! Might have to get one of those.
  17. I normally fish from my boat on ponds. But sometimes I don't feel like anything more than grabbing a few rods and just hitting the bank for an hour or two, I may not catch as many bass, but I normally still catch a few. Beats the snot out of yardwork!
  18. Not bad, I’d say. I’ve caught quite a few bass that had Senkos or (in this case) Yum Dingers stuck in their craw.

    So have I.
  20. I wasn’t sure I was in the right area. It’s a bit down that side road. But it is a nice shop.
  21. Might want to try Sunline Shooter Defier. 15 lb. diameter is .013”. It’s very supple. Just started using it so not a ton of experience with it, but I like what I see so far.
  22. This has been an entertaining game.
  23. lol. That was and will not be in the Top Ten of all-time halftime shows.
  24. I’ve never heard the term myself. Googling it shows one hit: this thread on BR lol.
  25. I have two Abu Black Max’s, two Daiwa Fuego CT’s, a Tatula 100H and a H2O Express Ethos HD on baitcasters and two Daiwa Revros (LT2000 and 2500XH) and Shimano Sienna 2500 on spinning rigs. I don’t think I’m extremely brand loyal, although I do seem partial to Daiwa. Don’t get me started on rods lol!
