  1. The wire is alot easier to tie than 40# mono or fluoro. It's the way to go. If you're at all concerned about wire leader to main line then add a swivel.

  3. I checked some reviews. This is the same blank as the Victory series but with cheaper guides.
  4. Remember when JAWS came out in the theaters and we couldnt go in the water anymore
  5. My Tackle shop guy gave me a 7-6 Avid Walleye MLXF to try out on our local river. It's his favorite river rod for smallies. My assumption was that the tip would be too slow for smallies. I took it out today and it doesnt feel like a xfast and it loaded way down into the blank. I liked it. Anyone else try this rod, any opinions are appreciated since my budget for a longer ML river rod is about $300.
  6. For crappie I'm using a st C triumph 6.5' Light/fast but it's really a noodle. It's probably a moderate. Occasionally I will take a fly rod instead.
  7. Xfast seems like a mistake for a crappie rod. I'd be jacking them up every time I set the hook.
  8. I normally keep the leader because str8 braid is so limp it gets into the hooks too often for me. But it's not a big problem with a frog, it rarely fouls.
  9. First off WOW TOPWATER RULES These are my thoughts. Missing 90% of frog hits is a little low but not ridiculous for frogs. Bass in grass tend to slash topwater to stun it first. They rarely engulf it like a trout. So be patient real down and then swing hard after you feel weight. After trying that and you cant get a good hookset then you need a heavier setup. But always be patient. And a fallow up with a senko is great

  12. A rod with a wider range of recommended wts should have a more "whippy" feel to it (I find most UL rods to be whippy). The tighter range would indicate a faster tip. But until it's in hand you cant know for sure.

  18. And what do they put in those water bottles they squirt onto an injury. One squirt and POOF the guy can walk again!
  19. They should use the video review to red card the floppers
  20. I'm from Canada so my background is hockey related but the Stanley Cup playoffs are done and there is alot if soccer on TV right now and I'm watching it. It's amazing how tough these soccer players are. They rarely get injured but dozens of them are nearly maimed in every game. Hockey players need to find out how they stay healthy.
  21. I dont bury the hook eye or the knot.
