  1. When my cat was 5ish she would play with a feathered worm wt of 1/16th oz. that i threw on a 5'6" jig rod. What was the most eyeopening for me was how much she did to it that i never felt as i dragged my feathered wt across the basement floor.
  2. Gotta say ive enjoyed my latest StC Avid Walleye rod and am thinking about getting a 7'6" LegendT I love this stick on my river
  3. My Dad and Uncles every summer took vacations together. I was blessed to have over 100 1st cousins and around my age were my 2 brothers and another 5 boys within a year of me. We'd all go out in the boats on some lake in Ontario just before dark and start fishing for walleye, pike and smallies. Was a great part of childhood for me.
  4. My pet peeve is throwing str8 braid on xfast rods. It might be just me but i seem to wrap up my tip quide alot and i use #15 to #20 mostly. Its very annoying if i dont use a mono leader.
  5. Once again, just technically sound, relavent and practical gems of knowledge. So good to have you here.
  6. Im finding a 7'6" to be a fantastic wading rod for my river smallie needs.
  7. Gray Wood Outfitters Blackbirch Lake
  8. My hookset probably depends on the hook and line I use. I'm always braid to mono but light wire or heavy?
  9. My bass season ends soon. I've never caught a bass locally after the 2nd week of November.
  10. My last buy was a 7'6" mlxf Avid walleye for river fishing. Great stick and great warranty
  11. Is something wrong with you? Op talks about burning crankbaits in water, YOU mentioned lakes, I mentioned rivers. why argue?
  12. Moving water does freeze, just not at 32°F. It needs to be colder due to kinetic energy and the formation of ice crystals.
  13. Yes, the levante blanks are more moderate.
  14. Wrong. Your grade school education is lacking real world experience. Rivers with current don't freeze over like ponds and lakes
  15. Rivers with current don't freeze at 31° F
  16. If you've come to learn, this is the place.
  17. If you can use your casting gear for everything over 5/16 oz then get a ML for the lighter stuff
  18. I pulled a jig right out of a smallies mouth because I thought it was a snag. Undeterred that smallie gave chase and lept out over a rocky ledge at my airborne jig. Little guy a savage.
  19. My river gets filthy with gizzard shad every fall and winter. A white skirted jig is a good imitation
