Bait monkey and I are very very pleased with this. I like that Tatula. Feels good in hand and looks very functional. Sweet ?

Most productive lures so far. Need suggestions.
You need a spinnerbait dangit!! I get that the jackhammer for you has turned out to be a better mid column bait but golly I regard a spinnerbait as absolutely essential. It is a must have. Part of the Holy Trinity of Texas rig, jig, and spinnerbait. I seriously think that regardless of cover, region, water temperature, season, whatever…. Those three need to be tied on.

2019 Review - Which lures/presentations caught largemouth over 5lbs for you?
Only the first one was, but thank you No amount of videos or posts on here could tell me how to catch that first fish, and it is the one I am most proud of. It was the product of knowledge from countless hours fishing that reservoir combined with seasonal timing (early prespawn). I knew where big bass would be likely to come up in the prespawn on that reservoir, that was the most important piece. Then I knew spinnerbaiting around sunset was a good presentation on this reservoir, and I wanted it slow rolled and deep. I’d been tossing a jig but really it was just occupying time until sunset. Huge warming trend in NY at that time )you see me in a short sleeve) just made for perfect conditions.

Kayak Junk Fishing
I’ve put some thought into this previously and understand what you are getting at. I don’t think, though, that kayak fisherman are junk fisherman by default. I do think it means that you’ve got to try and squeeze more out of an area than perhaps guys in a fast boat rig are willing to. I think it forces you to want to learn a specific area very well and all that it offers you, because it’s all you’ve got. Sure, maybe you’ve got a couple docks on points you want to skip, and a couple humps you want to work, and then maybe a couple points so does that wind up being a junk fishing deal? I don’t necessarily think so since you can take some of the same lures everywhere regardless of the cover and structure you are fishing. Kayak fishing on big lakes is awesome. I really enjoyed it this summer. When Lake of the Ozarks calms down in late fall/winter… hopefully I’ll do some of that big lake fishing again. Otherwise, man in small ponds, your kayak suddenly becomes a speedy bass boat. You can get anywhere.

Spinnerbait Weight
Woah there…. I only asked because I wanted to know if you knew which ones are different. Was not challenging you in any way. Just wanted information. Since you don’t know, okay. I still don’t doubt that there are ones on the market that, as you say, are labeled by total weight and not jig weight.

Can you give me examples where this common rule does not apply?

Finesse Shaky Head Worm Color
Junebug works in all water clarities and so does black, black grape, whatever. It’s just a color. I have a propensity towards blacks and purples for worms, especially red-purple shades right now and if I want a lighter color, watermelon red or watermelon candy are good. I do not like freaking green pumpkin. Green pumpkin is bland and gross. So my answer is get both lol

I have a Tatula 200 on the way. I wanted a replacement reel on my frogging/punching setup that had a large line capacity, propensity for long casts, and dependable drag without my usual regard for comfort since I ain’t bottom hopping. The tatula is what I landed on. Excited

Pond! Lo!
Well Lord knows I’m tired of the heat. Happy it is cooling down now. I had to stop fishing yesterday because of it. Never had to do that before. I had 3 quarts of water and ran out of it and started to feel light headed. Stopped then and there. Saturday I went for a run in 102 degrees after fishing most of the morning so that probably had something to do with it, lol.

barometric pressure question
Weatherunderground 10 day forecast to answer your first question. Shows a chart of how barometric pressure, temperature, cloud cover, rain, etc all change by the hour. For your second question, I am inclined to think that sometimes the feeding response in a fish can be triggered even a day or two before the actual storm, or sometimes 30 minutes before. I dunno

Pond! Lo!
I fished em today, was from the bank, and I totally debunked my earlier statement that there are areas of the ponds inaccessible by foot. I waded all the way round. It was not comfortable, but doable. I picked up three small ones, one is photo’d in the Catch Pics Thread because he’s covered in salad and thought it was funny enough to share. The ponds are still a little puzzling. Everything tells me that there should be nice size bass in there, but did not find them today…. Next time maybe. I punched, frogged, spinnerbaited, and swam jigs.

KVD L&L
I actually just applied it to a braid spool before fishing this afternoon. Applied it last night, let it dry overnight. Did not notice too much difference on braid, maybe a little improvement, but not worth for braid IMO. For mono and fluoro, wow, it is magic.

Pond! Lo!
Been cruising around looking for places to fish and gathering information while occasionally tossing a line. Well I found a couple ponds that might only be open on weekends but covered with lily pads, good population of healthy looking bluegill, picked up a few healthy looking bass out of em yesterday. On spinnerbaits. Half of one of these ponds is inaccessible unless you have a kayak. Can’t launch a boat anywhere. Oh boy. It’s about to get real folks ?
