Looks Like I’ll Be Taking A Break
I ain’t done anything foolish yet! But healing is very slow Thanks

Your worst fishing habit
I have a few Sometimes I will hold the rod too loosely on the hookset and when a fish “sets the hook back”, I lose control of the rod momentarily. Another is that when I am fishing bottom contact and I come up against a stump, lay down, whatever, I will have a tendency to want to “clear” that obstacle too soon. I’ve been trying to force myself to stop up against the cover and just shake in place and not be nervous about getting hung up. A final one is that, in spite of my best intentions, I will sometimes still allow too much slack on the hookset. Once again, trying to train myself to do it right every time. I fish decently clean but I could get better by continuing to work on these three

Your worst fishing habit
Yup, I thought that about you. It’s okay. You catch better brown bass than most (all?) us anyways.

Hats off to your wife, wow

4 Habits and Thoughts
Reading and writing are the hardest for me on this list definitely. I have no problem going Buddha mode for 30min and meditating on how my legs go numb after sitting cross legged ? but for some reason it is harder for me to convince myself to read… and writing? Forget about it. Room for progress for sure. By the way I think fishing needs to be on this list ? That is seriously impressive

Hardbaits. i simply suck with them.
I just don’t see myself using them. Already sold off my jerkbaits and crankbaits would be next. You could describe 90% of what I do as jigs, soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and a little topwater. If I turn around and you are right, you are welcome to say “I told you so” but I like how things are for me right now. Those are my high percentage baits and I don’t expect them to change.

The Bait Monkey
I totally agree; it was the same for me. It was at the point where I would watch a YouTube video and then be convinced to go out and buy the baits mentioned in the video because I thought they would catch me more fish ?. As Ive learned more and started to understand how I like to fish and catch fish, the deal is decently manageable for me now. Bait monkey still convinces me to buy stuff sometimes, like custom Nichols spinnerbaits, but he is manageable. It will probably remain that way so long as I don’t pick up crankbaits, jerkbaits, A-rigs, swimbaits, or the like. Crankbaits or swimbaits especially. Those would be a mess for me

Fall Rate
Terry Oldham I guess agrees with you, and for jigs as well. I ran into this video while doing more jig research

Do-All Jig
Excellent price on the Trailer Hitch jigs (which are the screw lock ones you are mentioning?) considering that they come with a 5/0 Gamakatsu flipping hook. Nice looking skirt colors too. Good option for sure

Looks Like I’ll Be Taking A Break
I told a guy I met here that if he's ever fishing and wants some company to let me know. Or I might just sit at a pond and chill out one of these days. Trying to keep my sanity intact.

Hardbaits. i simply suck with them.
I might be able to arrange something in the Flea Market, but I will need to replace a lot of the hardware on them. I have quite a few crankbaits but never use them. Mostly rapala.

Do-All Jig
@Siebert Outdoors what is angle of line tie on your Extreme Arky jig?
-
Hardbaits. i simply suck with them.
Well, I guess you could say I suck with em too. I do not dare start to fish crankbaits or the like because that would be an immense bait monkey rabbit hole for me. Also I hate treble hooks. Exception is lipless cranks; I'll use those sometimes.

Do-All Jig
I agree. I have a lot of excellent choices

Looks Like I’ll Be Taking A Break
No way it can happen, but thanks. Paddling is part of how I reinjured this deal. I'm just biding my time, waiting

Do-All Jig
I actually can’t even argue with that. Doesn’t cover me for a larger profile, but yeah, it’s a great little jig despite not that good skirt or keeper

Anyone else a metalhead?
No, it’s just downright spooky. I feel like wherever I am, lights need to be on or the sun needs to be out when I listen to it. That should go on the “What are you scared of?” Thread

Dedicated Rods?
The closest that I have to technique specific is my spinnerbait rod, Falcon Expert Head Turner. Even though it’s such a versatile rod, I don’t plan on using it for anything but spinnerbaits as far as I can see and I really love it

Do-All Jig
Tom already gave recommendation of Siebert Dock Rocker looking good or the Divine Hybrid Jig you brought up. Your comment though, LOL. I learned to cook chicken wings today.

Do-All Jig
Well, the more I have been looking into this, the more I think you are right. There are some great, versatile head designs though and certainly learned a lot here. BOSS Predator Jig Head is another that looked good to me. Thought I spied a little flat area on the bottom of head. Evergreen Grass Ripper looks excellent but do not like skirt color Otherwise there are several from this thread that are interesting to me. Certainly lots here, thanks y’all

Anyone else a metalhead?
Oh boy…. That would be a good one. Iron Maiden is another great. “Fear of the Dark” was like one of the introductory metal songs for me.
