The answer I feel most confident about given my humble experience is Larger bass will prefer large prey in abundance as one factor where they are located This influences more where they are located rather than what lure they can be caught on

But the real question is… do you have RGB lights and a gaming chair? If you don’t, your K/D ratio is about half of its potential.

The recent Oahe tournament is incredibly boring to watch…. At least day 1 that I saw I’ve watched some tournaments that are a lot more exciting, but sometimes, I think you are right… sometimes watching good fishing is like watching paint dry. I try to pick stuff up as I’m watching a tournament. Sometimes I watch em, sometimes I don’t, but I try and learn.

GX2 was the first thing I used as a baitcaster. Had it paired with a $40 Kast King reel and that is what I used for a decent stint. Once, a couple months ago, I picked up the GX2 again and couldn’t believe how privileged I’d been using iRods and a Falcon. The GX2 works, is sensitive enough, and is seriously strong, but it is a heavy, clumsy rod.

My old English professor is not mad… he’s just disappointed I agree with @Hammer 4 though that the iRods are worth a look. iRod offers a couple options that cater to your desired lure rating range and applications. I unfortunately don’t have experience with those options but I do own 4 other iRods if that tells you anything.

I am newbie to smallmouth but smallmouth seem to likey flashy object sometimes although sometimes they don’t want said flashy object and prefer other things. Kinda reminds me of largemouth

Well as I mentioned in the latest sale thread I suddenly got locked in mortal combat with the bait monkey over JDM Zillion and bait monkey won. I guess he’s allowed to win once in a while. So I have a JDM Zillion SV TW 1000PL on the way. A few ideas on how to use it but I feel it will hold decent value regardless

That’s kinda what I was thinking but I’m biased as heck. I just think they have a habit of catching a really nice fish once in a while, sometimes when you least expect it.

I think once I got out of a mindset that "because I put so much time and effort into this and watched this many videos and got this tip from a BR member, I should definitely be catching more", I was better off. Nobody owes me anything, certainly not the fish. They seriously do not care about what I put into this sport, and hardly anybody else cares either. That's okay. I care, but I'm not owed any amount of success. I have to earn that.
