  1. The JDM monkey is rampant. No one is safe
  2. I also lost a biggun on Shearon Harris years ago. It sure looked huge to me but I was inexperienced at the time I don’t like that Devils Horse fish because I don’t think I did much wrong.
  3. Think there are a lot of good suggestions here. I went with Abu Winch because of some reviews and a little research. I'm sure a Shimano 5 ratio or a Daiwa tricked out to have a 5 gear ratio (that sounds really cool by the way) or a Lew's BB1 are all great. I would not settle for anything greater than a 5 gear ratio. I think you are very right in searching for that speed. Reason becomes apparent when you slow roll, use spinnerbaits with a lot of vibration and torque, or throw spinnerbaits for hours on end. I absolutely used to be able to throw solely spinnerbaits for 7-8 hours with no fatigue. Also, spinnerbaits really do shine sometimes on a slow speed and using a slow reel makes it all the easier to be somewhere in the ballpark of what the fish want. I don't burn spinnerbaits fast enough to warrant any faster reel. I've burned the spinnerbaits I use on my Winch just fine.
  4. I used to bring a whole box full. My thought process was "It ain't taking up more space in the kayak for me to fill this box up, so why not bring more spinnerbaits?" I actually stopped doing that a little bit before this hiatus. I realized that I'd still be sorting through spinnerbaits to find the 5-6 that I might want, so it was counterproductive for me to carry a lot. I felt most comfortable keeping about that 5-6 for shallow water and another 5-6 or so for fishing deep if I was on a large lake. That spinnerbait box can hold a lot. Like maybe 40-50. But when I felt most productive was when I carried 12ish. But, I also use it for carrying buzzbaits as I mentioned so I could fit in another 4ish buzzbaits if I want. I also carried a blade box. I'm thinking I'm going to change that too and just keep several blades I might want to change out. No need to go crazy and carry a bunch of large colorados or oklahomas if that ain't what I'm going to be using. With the heads I bought recently I'm hoping to build the spinnerbaits I want, my way.
  5. I do like my edge boxes. I have a 3700 deep that holds…. Everything. Amazing amount of space. It holds various things for me in the kayak. Also have two of their spinnerbait boxes that I use to hold my spinnerbaits and buzzbaits and they keep rust out very well. Unfortunately now I’m running into a situation where I may soon require a third or another means of organization. I always bring one of my spinnerbait boxes with go-tos when I kayak fish I am sure there are ways for me to manufacture my own boxes even with a lining to use but at the moment I am not that saavy.
  6. Holy cow. I listened to the first one and I rate it dark/10. You okay? ? Another song to potentially play with the emotions, this one diff than my usual stuff
  7. Your frequent posts are a gem, thank you. You fish a lot!
  8. I got 5 swallows but the fifth was a feat. Where’s my Guinness World Record?
  9. The proof is in the pudding. Let the haters hate
  10. I did not answer the topwater fishing question directly because I don’t do it enough to have enough data. I certainly caught them on spinnerbaits to +/- 40 degrees
  11. From my time in NY I believe Northern largemouth - not talking about NLMB vs FLMB here- are more aggressive and the window of effectiveness for certain baits extends into colder temperatures than in the South. Everything is relative, I imagine. 40 degree water is chilly for a Northern LMB but it is downright frigid for a Southern LMB
  12. Okay time to confess. This shows a good amount of what bait monkey did to me and it's what I've been busy with past couple of days. Both Nichols and Zorro Bango Blade blanks bought in bulk with just the blank.
  13. I think they are the best out there. When the light is not totally taut and the trophy series frog is at rest, it will sit butt down in the water. They really seem to like that. Super soft, super sharp owner hooks. They are a winner.
  14. My Dad called the middle one red oak. Dunno. Wish I could've gotten leaves but they were really high. Whites oaks were in a lot of places. Still want to do a lot of looking around. A lot more. Thanks!
  15. Scouted another spot, I am positive that I found quite a lot of them along with red oak and quite possibly some swamp chestnut oak. It was an oak forest, basically. Some other trees mixed in. In spite of this, did not see many signs of deer but did not fully cover the area I wanted to yet. Here’s the white oak: And then a couple other trees. Think one is a red oak and the other maybe one of the chestnuts
  16. I ain't complaining ?
  17. I understand that one too! It's what I grew up with but I listen to it a lot less nowadays. When it comes to favorite bands that I listen to nowadays, the closest I get to country is Whiskey Myers but I love them.
  18. I can understand why some people don’t like both metal and rap or one of them, but I respect artists from both. I can’t say that Kendrick Lamar or J.Cole just produce noise because I know better. And TOOL? Sometimes it seems like they are on another planet
  19. We all know you stuck those flukes in the fish’s mouth after the fact ?.
  20. I’m convinced flukes don’t catch fish and that everyone has this inside joke going of “Yeah let’s keep everybody thinking that they actually work, wouldn’t that be funny? Ahah it’d be hilarious”
  21. I never go above a 7 speed reel for anything ??‍♂️.
  22. I made a few tackle orders on the same day when I ordered from digitaka. The digitaka, and then two here in US. Digitaka arrived first, 5 days and that included labor day weekend. Free shipping. Insane. I would not mind shopping there again
